When I'm With You (REWRITING)

CHAPTER 13

Kaz's P.O.V

I felt my phone vibrate from my back pocket. I look over at Dee, who was fast asleep on her bed.

I sigh and pick it up without the looking at the caller ID.

K - Hello? 

F - You have to come back. We have a huge problem. 

K - What the fuck do you mean? 

F - Noah and his gang ambushed us again. They found out you had left for Sydney and took it as an opportunity.   

I groan. This is only going to get worse if I stay in Sydney. I look over at Dee again. She and the girls have no idea what we do for a living, and I'm surprised to why none of them has asked. 

Coming here, I've already left a ton of paperwork unattended for next month's shipments and well...A whole gang in the hands of two idiots. 

I groaned in stress. I'll have work twice as hard when I get back. I promised Dee I would be here, but my gang is always going to be my main priority. Whatever I do....I do it for the gang.

K - I'll try and get back home by the next flight. 

F - ...With her or without? 

I keep my eye on her, peacefully sleeping, in a mind of her own. 

K - ...You guys were right. These girls don't deserve to get involved with us. 

F - I'll take that as you're coming without her. 

There was silence between the lines.

K - I'll see you tomorrow. 

 I end the call and stand up. She was better off here. I don't know what I'll do if she gets hurt by my wrong actions.

It just made more sense this way.

Dee's P.O.V

I'm sitting in the guest room, looking down at my phone. 

Kaz :)

By the time you read this, I'll probably be gone. I know this was a sudden move but I had to get back home. Freddie informed me about something extremely urgent came up at work, so I had to catch the next flight home. 

The bed was neatly done and the window curtains were open, allowing the sun to lighten the room. 

I hate waking up to an empty house. It was torturing for me.  

I walk downstairs, not looking around for Grandma because the place was quiet and I knew she wasn't home.

The kitchen was brighter by the hide window I read it out loud by the sink, helping my eye catch a small note on the counter.

Good morning sweetie. I'll be back in the afternoon. I had to go down to the police station again. There food in the fridge or if you want you can go out and eat. 

Love Grandma. 

I groan. I guess I'll be alone for the whole day. Maybe I could just go out to see the city for today? Like I originally planned with Kaz, who was supposed to come with me. 

I felt my phone buzz. It was a text message. 

My hopes were up to it being Kaz again, telling me that he missed his flight and has to come back.
