'Hey sugar tits!' Richie called

I looked in his direction and gave him a eye roll

'You should really hit on people you actually have a chance with.' I joked

He tried his best to look hurt but quickly cracked into a smile

'You want me.' he winked

This was mine and Richie's thing, we would constantly flirt in a mean kind of way. None of the others really understood but weirdly we knew that neither of us meant what we said

'We're going down to the Quarry you want to come?' Stan asked

'Sure, why not.' I smiled at Stan

From the corner of my eye I saw Richie wasn't happy with me and Stan talking, but to be honest I kind of liked that it was bothering him. Richie was the first person I met from the loser club and I met him when i first moved here last year, we just clicked straight away

I followed the rest of them, heading down to the Lake

'I propose a loogie war.' Richie said, we were all stood at the edge of the cliff showing a view of the water below in nothing but our underwear

'Don't be gross.' I said

'Whoever gets it the furthest distance will be the one to jump first.' He said

I rolled my eyes as one by one the boys spat in turns

'You pussies.' I said and jumped off the cliff. I quickly put my fingers to my nose and sunk into the water

'Y/n!' I heard them shout as I came back up to the surface

'Come on!' I shouted

One by one they jumped leaving Richie at the top of the cliff

'No, no way.' he said

'Come on ya chicken' I said

'No, you can't make m.e'

'Omg look behind you! Beep beep Richie.' I teased

Before I knew it he finally jumped off the side into the water

He quickly rose back up gasping for air 'I hate you.'

'No, you don't.' I winked and we joined the rest of the group

Stan lifted me onto his shoulders and he rested his hands on my thighs, which didn't go down too well with Richie as he gave us glares the whole time

'Right its war bitch!' Eddie said

I laughed and we both tried to push one another off, resulting in us both going into the water head first

I laughed and splashed him

'You're fun to hang out with Y/n.' Stan said

I gave him a little smile 'Thank you, so are you guys. It was weird being the new girl but you guys made me feel welcome.'

'So, are you like dating now?' Richie interrupted

'What?'; I asked

'Well it's just you both seem pretty cosy.'

I frowned 'Richie we are just friends...'

'Yeah sure...' He said and walked out of the water

'What the fuck was that?' I asked

'You really are blind, aren't you?' Stan Said

'What? What am I missing?'

'The fact that the kid has been in love with you since you got here?' Eddie said

'He has?'

He rolled his eyes 'Women.'

I ignored his comment and walked over to Richie who was now sat on the ledge

'Hey.'

'Leave me alone.'

'No, I love annoying you too much.' I said

He sighed, we sat in silence before he spoke 'Sorry.'

'Wow is this THE Richie apologising to me? Someone got a camera?' I teased

His lips went up to a little smirk but he quickly covered it back up

'You know I wasn't lying when I said you all made me feel welcome, especially you Richie.' I said

'why are you nice to us?' he asked

'why wouldn't I be?'

'Because you're you... and we are, well us.' He said

'I don't know if I should be offended right now or- '

'You are a beautiful, amazing girl who could be the most popular girl in school if she wanted to be but instead you hang out with us, why?'

I felt the heat rise in my cheeks at his words 'You really want to know?'

He nodded

'When I first came here, I was scared. Everything new to me, and everyone already had their friendship groups. The first person I met was Henry which wasn't a help, I thought all the guys were going to be like him. Then I walked into the classroom and saw you. You were sat there with your tongue slightly out whist you concentrated on the drawing you were doing. You looked cute, I guess I hung out with you all because I wanted to get to know you more.' I blushed

'Me?'

'Yes, you Richie' I laughed 'I really like you.'

'i-I like you too' he smiled

'Just kiss already!' we heard Eddie shout

'Well we shall give what the man wants!' Richie said in his English accent and placed his lips on mine briefly

'we will save the rest for later.' He winked
