'When do you think this will be over?' I asked and looked over to Eddie

We were both lay down on the grass looking at the sky, a few hours before another child was announced missing and we all knew there was something to it. We all knew Derry had a history and whenever you asked an adult about it they would do everything they could to avoid it, to avoid the truth.

'I don't know y/n.' He sighed

'Im scared...'

He sat up and looked at me 'Y/n I promise as long as I'm around nothing will happen to you.' He said

I smiled, his words were sweet but even that didn't ease the weird feeling that was burning inside

'Oi guys, where was my invite?' Richie said and lay his bike down, Eddie quickly made distance between us 'Did you hear? A boy's leg was found chewed up near the barrons.'

'i-I know.' I mumbled, feeling that awful feeling in my stomach, ever since georgie went 'missing' ive felt on edge waiting for the next incident to be announced

'God knows where he's ran off to am I right?' He joked

I knew Richie meant well but he didn't know his limits in certain situations, a lot of people will probably think he's rude but i think we all know he makes jokes out of things he's probably deep down shitting himself over.

'Not now Richie.' Eddie groaned

'What? It was a joke. Anyway, Beverly wants us to go to hers. Something happened' He said

My face turned into a frown before I followed them to her house

'Right I just need you guys to come in, to prove I'm not going crazy right now.' She mumbled

'O-okay we will come.' Bill said

'If my dad founds out I have boys in the house- '

'Don't worry one of us will stay to look out, Richie' Stan said

'What? Why me? What if her dad comes back?!' He said

'Do what you do best, start talking.' Stan said and we all headed inside

Without thinking I grabbed Eddie's hand, instead of pulling away he gave it a little squeeze

'I-in there' Beverly said and pointed to the door at the end of the hallway

'Come on.' Bill said and we headed inside

My eyes widened as I saw the room was covered in what looks like blood, there wasn't one patch that wasnt covered in the stuff

'W-what happened?' I asked

Beverly looked at me and I knew it was probably best I didn't know, i simply just nodded and grabbed a sponge helping the rest of the guys out

'so, we've all seen this clown?' Eddie asked

'I-I haven't.' I mumbled

'Is it just virgins that see this shit?' Richie said

'shut up Richie' Eddie rolled his eyes

'So, some clown is going around taking children?' I asked

'No, it's not real. We all see different it's just a dream.' Stan said

'I think I know the difference between a dream and real life.' Mike argued 'Maybe it knows what we fear most and uses it against us.'
