When I woke up Melanie was asleep beside me and Jaxon was no where to be seen. I called for him in my mind, 'Jax?' 'In my office.' He replied. I got up and pulled on some socks before making my way downstairs. I walked into his office to see him sitting at his desk on the computer, I went and sat on his lap. "When did you get home?" I asked, pressing my nose to his neck breathing in his scent. This mate bond was driving me crazy and not seeing him all night made it worse. Jaxon wrapped his arm around me kissing my head, "Late last night, things ran a little longer than planned. You and Melanie were asleep when I got home I didn't want to wake you." He said, typing on the keyboard. "You should have woke me, I would have sent Mel to her room. Where did you sleep?" I questioned him worried, looking up at his face. He was quite, I took his face in my hands making him look at me. I frowned, "You haven't been to sleep." "I've been working. Paperwork, speaking of you're off the hook with school." He said a small smile on his face. "Really?" I said excited. "Really, you're smart as is and I don't want you out in the open. You're a target now. Now what's going on with Melanie and Jonah?" He asked standing with me in his arms and going to the couch sitting. "I don't really know, Jonah came in yesterday mumbling about his wolf wanting to be near her but they both said it wasn't a mate bond feeling." I said trying to explain. "By any chance was Melanie adopted?" Jaxon asked. I gasped, "How did you know that?" He shrugged, "Just a guess. Why don't you go wake Melanie, we can all have breakfast and then talk." He suggested. I nodded, "Okay." I said kissing him quickly before I got off of his lap. I wanted to mention him saying I love you but I just couldn't get it out, I was nervous. After realizing I did love him, I of course wanted to tell him but I worried that I would seem like a fool. We'd only known each other for a short time, and of course we were mates but it was still so quick for me to be in love with him. I went into our bedroom and woke Mel, changing into some leggings and a hoodie her staying in her pajamas before we walked down. Everyone was already gathered at the table, over the past month I'd met most of them and so far no more experiences like with Alexis. Jaxon was seated at the head of the table I quickly took my spot next to him as everyone chatted about. "Hi." I said smiling at him, no matter how many times I saw him I still felt like it was the first time.  "Hi baby." He laughed, taking my hand and kissing it. He took my plate that sat at the table in front of me and filled it with food off of his.  At first it was a wired thing to me, but apparently it was an older tradition that his pack still held but he only did it when we ate in front of the pack. It was along the lines of the Alpha proving to his pack that he could take care of his Luna. "Thank you." I replied when he handed it back to me. "So when's Luke coming home?" I asked taking a bite of my eggs.  "Should be sometime tonight or tomorrow.  He's speaking with some of the pack members over there." "Do you think they're gonna start a war?" Cody, who id learned was Jaxons Third In Command. Jaxon shook his head while I knew part of it was him not wanting to discuss it in front of the pack, he said no. "No I spoke to their Alpha yesterday. Alexis' mates name is Logan, he is no one of rank in their pack, and he's known to cause trouble as it is he doesn't want to startle the pack over one member going crazy. He's letting us figure it out on our own." He said shortly. I felt a little more at ease after learning that there wouldn't be a war started over me but I also wanted nothing to do with Alexis and I wanted her gone. Breakfast was quick we talked amongst each other but immediately after Jaxon had Jonah meet Melanie and I in his office. "Alpha please tell me you know what's going on." Jonah sighed. I could tell it had been bothering him all night. "Melanie, Abigail told me that you were adopted." Jaxon said to her. "Yes, my uh real parents died in a rouge attack that wiped out our entire pack, I was around 2 my parents have always told me. Well my father and Abi's dad found me after searching for any clues as to what happened that day. And they adopted me into their family and pack, I've been there ever since." I watched as she spoke and Jonah stared at her side eyed as she spoke. "Was the pack name the Shadowstone Pack?" Jonah asked. I sat back just as confused as Melanie looked. "How did you know?" She whispered. Jonah looked directly at Jaxon, "She's my sister isn't she?" He asked. "I think so. That would explain why you're wolves want to be near each other, especially yours he wants to protect her." "Okay no offense but I am so fucking confused." Melanie spit out.  Jonah sighed, "My parents were killed the same night, I had a younger sister and I was with her after everyone else had died but I was shot too so while I was trying to heal I was attempting to take care of the both of us.  We were both so young, I remember sitting there with her underneath a tree that I had managed to get us to away from the bodies and I guess I'd passed out because when I woke she was gone. I'd always hoped a pack found her and just assumed I'd died from the look of my body. But then Alpha Jaxons family found me and took me in." It all seemed to flick, Melanie had to be his sister. "I've looked for you for so long, but I couldn't seem to remember much other than the fact that my parents were dead and you were gone. I can't believe you're here." He spoke, eyes glistening with us head tears. I couldn't believe it either, my best friend was Jonahs long lost sister.
