"It happened the night you two met, while you were upstairs talking to Abi I ran into Melanie; literally. She was coming down the stairs while I was going up to check on you. Once I realized it was like everything had stopped, I never expected to find my mate that night. She looked so excited to see me, then I had to tell her I didn't want her. I've never wanted my mate, it's always been Mara. She planned to leave Greyson a few years back when we first got together, but he wouldn't let her. I always managed to find a way to talk to her and then suddenly we stopped talking. I was in love with her, I knew it from the first day I spent with her. I didn't want to be with anyone else, and Greyson took that away from me. Then I met Melanie... My wolf wouldn't leave me alone dying to be near her, I figured once we left your old pack things would be back to normal but he just kept it up. So while we were gone I went to find Mara and when I did she told me she didn't want me anymore. She said that she and Greyson were happy now." I tenses up at his words. "Mates are meant to be happy, they're together for a reason." I said angry. "When I got home and Melanie was here my wolf was so happy, he thought he could make me see reason with her being in the same house. And then she got hurt and I've never felt so scared in my life. I didn't know what had happened to her, all I could think was that she was going to die and I didn't know why I cared so much. I mean I didn't want her, why was I so concerned if she was hurt or not? I don't love her, and I don't know that I ever can but I know that I can't leave her." Luke said. "Do you know how selfish you sound?" Jaxon said after a few minutes. Luke opened his mouth but Jaxon stopped him. "We are given one person in our lifetime who is meant only for us. Not only did you try and take away someone else's soul mate, but you refuse to accept yours. This girl has been waiting for you her entire life and now all she's getting is a boy who won't man up and admit his mistakes and take care of the one person who is made to love him unconditionally." He sounded so upset. "Go I don't want to see you right now. And you better pray to the goddess I don't take away your Beta title." Luke got up and started to walk out. "And stay away from Mel she doesn't need you either." I added. "She's my mate Abi." He begged. "That's Luna to you, and you listen to her just as much as you do me. You should have thought of that when you said you didn't want her." He finally walked out slamming the door as he did so. I turned in Jaxons lap putting my face in his neck. "I hate him. " I said trying not to cry. I wasn't acting like myself, my wolf had done most of it but I couldn't let him think that treating Mel like that was okay. Slowly rubbing my back, "I know baby." "How could he say those things? All she wants is someone to love her." "Cody will you give us a minute? Go check on the progress with the boy." Jaxon commanded. "Look at me." He said once Cody was gone. The unshed tears threatened to fall once he was starring at me so sweetly. "Things will work themselves out, what Luke is doing isn't right and it never will be but this is a problem for themselves. The goddess made them mates for a reason this is their journey." I nodded still upset, but knowing it wasn't my place to judge their relationship. I laid my head back down. "Hey Jax?" I asked. "Hmm?" He said still running his fingers along my back. "I love you too." I mumbled against his neck, his hand stilled. "You heard that?" I smiled happy to know he really had said it. "I wasn't sure if I heard you right. But I do, I love you." "I love you.. So much I'm so thankful for you being in my life." I leaned back and kissed him quickly. "I was thinking, with everything going on the pack could use a little cheering up I thought we could have you're introducing ceremony this weekend. Have fun for a little bit?" He asked. While I didn't like crowds I knew he wanted to do this and he wouldn't have wanted to do this so bad if he  had suggested we do it right after Mel and I got attacked so I agreed. "How do you usually do it here?" "Little different than a regular pack member but just the ceremony, a pack run and then a big barbecue. It'll be just pack though, normally we'd invite other packs but with all the things going with Alexis and her mate I don't want to risk it. You can plan with Mel and a few of the other she wolves." I nodded. "Okay sounds good to me. Now what's going on with Alexis' mate?" After a minute of silence he asked, "Why don't you come down with me? He's not really responding much maybe he will if he sees you. He's in the cells so you'll be protected." I stood quickly, excited that he wanted me to actually do something within the pack and make me feel included. "Lets go." I said pulling him up from the chair, he laughed at my eagerness. "Abigail wait." He said stopping me, looking down at me he kissed me softly. "I love you." I grinned happily, "I love you too."
