Chapter 3: Mr. Cocky Prince
"Hey mom. Sorry for not visiting you for quite a long time. Been busy with life. I assume that you know about me being rejected again. That reminds me of Jannah's suggestion. Should i really consider it?" I asked her even i know that she won't answer. Suddenly, a butterfly made its way infront of the tombstone. It was white in color. Is it a sign? Maybe I should try.
"Maybe i should try. Hmm.... let's see.." i said, resting a finger on my chin, thinking. If i'm thinking of signs, i should make it quite impossible to add some twist. And to prove that i have every right to love again if it all comes true.
I took back one white rose. I pulled out one petal and started to say my first sign out loud.
"My first sign is,.. Earthquake.. with a magnitude of 3 or above." i whispered as if talking to the petal. I kissed it then started to tear it to pieces. When it was small enough, i threw it all up in air.
I pulled out another petal then whispered my second sign.
"My second sign is a shooting star falling from the night sky." I whispered, kissed it, teared it up once again then threw it all up in the air.
I pulled out another petal and started to whisper another sign.
"My third and last sign is Rain... in Egypt. Raining in Egypt for 30 minutes or so." I whispered. I kissed it, teared it up then threw it up in the air.
"The time limit is one year." I said before turning my heels and walking away. I glance one more time to mother's tombstone, smiled at it then walked away.
I walked out of the cemetery around 10 am and decided to past some time on my favorite spot. An oak tree at the park. I sat beneath it and read a book i brought with me. After sometime of peacefulness, i was rudely interrupted.
"Hey kid!" Someone from above me said. I looked up to be meeting with the most wonderful cerulean blue eyes. He was sitting on a branch of the tree.
"A-Are you talking to me?" I hesitatingly asked him.
"Nope. I'm actually talking to your book." He said sarcastically while rolling his eyes. I got the chance to wonder his looks. He has brownish blonde messy hair, cerulean blue eyes, slightly tanned skin, sharp nose, long eyelashes, pink lips and well built body (I think..) But something tells me that he's familiar. But i can't point my finger on it.
"Done checking me out?" He asked with a smirk on his perfect looking face. No, actually i'm describing your looks for the readers.
"Your a cocky one i see." I said while rolling my eyes.
"Just confident." He said with a proud smile on his handsome face. 'Wait. What am i thinking? I can't like him. Maybe not just yet.' I thought while mentally face palming.
"Whatever." I said while rolling my eyes then started reading again. He jumped off the branch and landed next to me.
"Hey, don't ignore me." he said with a frown. I glance at him then raised an eyebrow at him.
"Give me at least two reasons why shouldn't i ignore you." I narrowed my eyes on him.
"One, because i'm handsome. Two, because i'm good looking." He said with a smirk on his face.
"You do know that those reasons only mean one thing." I said with a raised eyebrow.
"Yup, but admit it. It best describes me." He said with another of his cocky smiles. I just rolled my eyes on him then continue on reading. I heard him groan in frustration.
"If you don't have anything to say beside showing me that big ego of yours, you should leave while i still can control my temper." I warned him but i just earned a chuckle from him. His laugh is music to my ears. Wai-What?! I can't think like this! I just made a promise not to fall inlove!
"Woah, chill there, Bookworm. I just came down here to introduce myself. I'm Jackson Miller but call me Jack." He said while offering a handshake. I looked at it with hesitation.
"Come on, i won't bite." He joked. While i rolled my eyes on him.
"Rein Cordelia Smith." I said while accepting his handshake. Upon holding his hand, i felt a spark once our skins touched. I pick to ignore it because he didn't seem to felt it. I'm just being naive.
"So, Rein. You live around here?" He asked removing our hands from each other.
"Being a stalker now, Jack?" I asked him with a smirk on my face.
"Just asking." He said while waving his hands infront of him in defense.
"Yeah, whatever makes you feel better." I said while rolling my eyes.
"Just answer the damn question." He said irritably while running a hand through his messy brownish blonde hair.
"Yes and no." I said while sighing in defeat.
"Pardon?" He said with confusion.
"Yes, i live around here and No, i won't tell you exactly where." I said with a slight smirk.
"Good answer. " he said while chuckling. I roll my eyes at him then looked at my wrist watch. It reads 11:21 am. Almost lunch time.
"Well, i better get going." I said, getting up and dusting my clothes.
"What? Already?" He whined.
"Sorry, Cocky Prince. But i have places to be." I said with a soft chuckle.
"Fine, but at least give me your number." He said while messing his hair.
"Maybe, if we meet again, i'll give it to you." I said earning a groan from him. I ignored him and started walking.
"Well, see you next time, Ice Princess. " he said while waving at me. I stopped on my tracks and looked at him.
"Ice Princess?" I asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes, because you seemed so cold towards guys." He said with a smirk. 'You can't blame me. I got rejected by 3 different guys.' I thought.
"Whatever, Cocky Prince." I said before turning my heels and walking away.
