Chapter 17: Jessa Smith

  "Rein, wake up." My good for nothing brother said waking me up from my dream land.

  "Leave me alone!" I yelled at the intruder. I covered my face with my blanket to indicate that i still want to sleep.

  "If you won't wake up now, i'll soak you with cold water." Renz said.

  My eyes widened upon hearing those words. When he said that he'll pour cold water on me, he'll surely do it.

  I'm sure he will because he already done that to me.

  "I'll count up to 3." He announced.

  ".."

  "One."

  ".." still no response from me. I don't want to be soak wet but i also don't want to wake up. I'm still so sleepy since i only slept for 2 hours.

  "Two."

  I heard a door opened. A sound of running water erupted the room. 'Oh no!'

  "Last chance, young lady."

  "I'm up! I'm up!" I jolted upwards. My eyes slowly adjusting from the room's light.

  Once my eyes was fully adjusted, i saw Renz leaning on my bathroom's frame with a smirk.

  "Good." He simply said.

  "What's your problem? Its like 6 in the morning?" I said while groaning in annoyance.

  "Get dressed." He simply commanded. I gave him a questioning gaze.

  "What?"

  "You heard me. I said get dressed."

  "What? Why? First period starts 2 hours from now, right?" I tried to reason out.

  "I know. But your not going to school today."

  "Huh?"

  "Enough questions. Just get dressed. Be sure to be ready at 6:30."

  With that being said, he left without any other word. I just stood there, motionless.

  Snapping back to reality, i dashed to my bathroom and took a quick bath. I then got dressed on my pink shirt, blue faded skinny jeans and converse. My hair on a messy ponytail.

  I ran downstairs and saw Dad and Renz already dressed.

  "Seriously, where are we going?" I asked.

  "Ask questions later. Get in the car." Dad said.

  Me and Renz looked at each other before following Dad to the car.

  Once we are all seated, Dad started the car engine the started driving. I fished out my phone from my pocket and started to type a message.

  To: Jannah, Gem, Kelly, Alicia and Jack

  Sorry. Can't go to school today. Talk to you guys later..

  After hitting the send button, i spare a glance to Dad and Renz. Dad looks serious while Renz looks clueless as me.

  "So...." i started to break the silence.

  "Do you mind telling us where were going?" Renz continued for me.

  "To the airport." Dad simply said.

  "Umm...Why?" I trailed off.

  "Its about your cousin, Jessa." Dad continued. My head snapped to his direction.

  "Jessa? What happened to her?" I asked him.

  Jessa Smith, daughter of Dad's older brother and considered my cousin. Me and Jessa are really close since we grew up together for we were neighbors. But unfortunately, Jessa and her family move out of the neighborhood when we were ten.

  "Don't worry, Rein. Were just going to fetch her since she will spend the whole year with us." Dad said with a smile. I let out a sigh of relief. Just then my eyes widened when i realized what he just said.

  "What?!" Me and Renz yelled in unison.

  "You heard me. She will spend the whole year with us and not to mention that she will study at your school, Rein." Dad confirmed.

  I squealed in delight while Renz groaned. Did i mention that he and Jessa's not in good terms? Guess not..

  Once we reached the airport, i immediately exited the car and made my way to the waiting area, Dad and Renz hot on my heels.

  After 20 boring minutes of waiting..

  "REIN!" I heard a familiar squeal that made me snap to her direction.

  A petite blonde haired and blue eyed girl tackled me to a bone-crashing hug.

  "Jessa!" I squealed.

  She's the same height as me and same age as me. She's hyper, bubbly and cute.

  "Hey there, Jess." Dad greeted her.

  "Hello uncle!" Jessa greeted him with a grin.

  "Tsk, such a brat." I heard Renz mumbled. I elbowed him causing him to glare at me.

  "I heard that, Idiot!" Jessa snapped at him.

  Told you their not in good terms..

  Well, this will be an interesting year...
