Chapter 23: The Last Sign

"Jack?"

I called out to catch his attention which i succeeded by the way.

He looked up to me and smiled slightly. That serious look didn't leave his face which made me worry even more.

"Hey." He greeted quietly but enough for me to hear.

"So, what's up?" -me.

I approached him and lean on the metal railings beside him. He smiled at me before taking a deep breath.

"Listen, Rein. I have something in mind that keeps on bothering me." -Jack.

My heart skipped a beat and nervousness started to built up.

"W-What?" -me.

"I'm starting to fall for you. No, let me rephrase that, I ALREADY FELL FOR YOU." -Jack.

I felt my throat dried out. No words seems to form or come out. My heart beats faster and my stomach was again filled with millions of butterflies.

Those words of his kept on repeating on my head like a cassette tape. I was lingered speechless for i wasn't expecting him to confess to me. Heck, i didn't even know that he likes me.

"W-What?" -me.

Those where the only words i managed to form and deliver. I was so distracted that my brain wasn't functioning well.

"I said I like you." -Jack. ^/////^

His face showed a hint of red which i clearly saw.

But there was another thing that made me worried.

My last sign

I know that i should just forget about it and accept Jack's feelings but i can't pull myself to do it. Those two signs that came true was clearly impossible but it came true which made me want to believe.

So, what will i do know?

Accept Jack's Feelings? Or just reject him and never love again because of my failed signs?

I checked my wrist watch and saw that i only have 5 minutes till the expiration date of my signs.

5 minutes

It seems long enough but raining in Egypt is highly impossible especially in 5 minutes.

I was about to speak up, but a voice coming from a speaker that was placed in this very rooftop. By the way, the school hallways, cafeteria, library and even here on the rooftop has a speaker. There, announcements and news are being announced or reported.

"Breaking news, it was just confirmed that Egypt experienced Rain for the first time in 4 years. That miracle rain lasted for more than an hour which pleased the Egyptians. For any more breaking news, please stand by."

That was only heard before the speaker was turned off again. But it was enough to leave me speechless again.

"Rein, are you alright?" -Jack.

I smiled and looked at him in the eye.

"Jack, i like you too." -me.
