Chapter 8
And The Past

"Bella, through this battle to the day you are killed, there's only one thing you must remember. You could have prevented it. Prevented your death." Mia said. "You will die because you were too foolish to make the right choice."

"We'll see who's the foolish one." Bella smirked. "I have an army of newborns."

"And do you believe we can't acquire one?" Jasper asked, raising an eyebrow.

"How would you?" Bella asked. "It's too late to go and create one."

"Bella, in the vampire world, Texas is known. No. The south is known for its newborn wars. Only a few people know who creates these armies. And very few known any details." He said.

"I've heard of the wars." Bella said.

"Then I'll tell you another thing. I fought in them. I trained newborns for this battles." Jasper told her.

"As far as I'm aware, there are only three vampires who have the inside knowledge of these battles but do not fight or have any involvement in them."

"So..?" Bella asked, though the confidence in her voice wavered a little.

"I used to work for and with a vampire named Maria." He said. "I just so happens that you raising a newborn army gives her enough confidence to give us her own army."

Hearing this, Bella was shocked. This was not something she had expected. She hadn't even thought that this could be a possibility.

"And those newborns are specifically trained for combat. Your army won't last." Jasper said.

"There are many ways to win a battle." Bella said. "I'll find one."

"Is this it?" Aro asked.

"Yes." Bella said and just then, made a gesture with her hand. That's when everyone looked behind her and saw a huge group of vampires. The newborn army.

Mia looked to Jasper who nodded at her.

He looked at Peter and Charlotte who immediately knew what he was asking of them. They needed a newborn army for these many newborns if they didn't want this war to last long or cost them much. It was Peter and Charlotte's duty now, to get a message across to Maria. They needed her armies.

Peter ran from the clearing as fast he he possibly could, in the direction he knew Maria was likely to be in. A little later, Charlotte left too, from a different route.

And with that, Bella didn't delay any longer, her newborns were hungry for the battle.
