The Perfect Month

A month had passed since Caius and Mia got married. Mia claimed it was the perfect month.

She seemed to have adjusted well to the married life. And if possible, her and Caius were now even closer than before.

The two of them believed that getting married was the best decision they had taken in their life.

The two got to know each other better, travelled, read together and were more inseparable than ever before. Whenever the Volturi council was in session, Mia sat next to Caius. People had started to realise that Caius would be willing to do anything that Mia asked of him.

Instead of begging the three kings for their mercy, people now resorted to begging Queen Amelia to have mercy on them.

But soon, another realisation seemed to have hit them, Queen Amelia was fair and listened to all explanations. But when it came to punishments, she was just as cold and merciless as her husband, Master Caius.

Mia and Sulipica had also grown close. Sulipica was never very interested in the councils and sessions in the throne room. But she very much admired Mia's ability to showcase her authority in there. She admired Mia's justiciable rulings and claimed that she was a gem in the Volturi.

Now that a month had passed after the wedding, it was time for Mia to be changed.

Sulipica, Caius, Aro and Marcus stood there along with Jane, Alec, Heidi and Renata.

"Are you absolutely sure you're ready for it, Mia?" Caius asked her as she leaned back into the bed.

"Yes." She breathed out, closing her eyes. Just then, she felt Caius's teeth biting into her neck.
