Chapter 17
The Emergency Meeting

Caius and Mia rushed to the throne room. It was extremely rare for such an emergency meeting to be called.

When they entered, they saw everyone already present.

Once she was on her throne, Mia noticed Maria in the assembly. Every ounce of happiness that was left in her from her moments with her husband just a little ago, vanished.

"This emergency meeting is for some crucial decisions which must be made." Aro said. "It concerns the information given to us by Isabella Swan."

"Aro." Mia interrupted. "Since we are talking about such crucial things, I believe only the Volturi family should be present in this room."

"I agree, of course." Aro said.

"Then I believe Maria needs to be escorted out of the room."

Maria glared. "Am I not family, Mia?"

"No you aren't family, Maria. And it is Queen Mia. Or Amelia." She said looking back at her pointedly.

"Maria." Aro interrupted. "This meeting is for the Volturi family. I would hate to have you removed from the room."

Maria shot one last glare at Mia and turned on her heel, walking out the door.

Once she was gone, Aro started. "We, of course looked into all that Isabella said. As it turns out, she was correct. An army of newborns has been identified at the very location we were told."

"Then I believe we need to hunt the army and kill it before it does the same to us." Caius said.

"The sooner we leave, the better it is." Marcus said.

"We can manage to leave by tomorrow evening." Said Caius.

"I agree. Mia?" Aro said and turned towards Mia.

"Bella. It's a trap. Bella is not the type to just apologise for everything and then help you out. This is definitely A trap of sorts. A backup plan." She said.

"Mia, I think you're being paranoid." Caius said.

"Say whatever you what to. But something is not right. It doesn't add up in my head." Mia argued.

"See, I don't blame you for feeling this way Mia. The way she has been in the past, she deserves it." Aro said. "But right now, I think it is right to believe her."
