Chapter 13
Decisions Decisions....
"Yes, I do believe we have matters to settle." Aro agreed, leaning back in his throne as well.
"First of all, why is Maria here?" Mia asked.
"The real question should be concerning James." Caius said. "Maria is a friend."
"And James is not a foe."
"I don't like his presence. He made you believe...." Caius started.
"He did nothing! He did absolutely nothing!" Mia said nearly yelling. "Caius I do not understand the grudges you hold against him but if you don't let them go, there will be trouble."
"You're defending him?" Caius asked, his eyebrows raised.
"I believe I am."
"And brother, Maria...is not very popular. Her presence is disturbing our proceedings." Aro said. "Her presence is a threat to our rule."
"Aro!" Maria protested. "I'm not a threat!"
"He never called you a threat." Marcus interrupted. "He called your presence a threat. And I do agree with that. And you are in any case, not a permanent resident. You're a guest staying over for a short time. I don't see any problems here. You shall be leaving soon."
Marcus's words made it clear that Maria was now overstaying her welcome in his home. Maria simply nodded having no reply.
"And what about Isabella?" Aro asked, turning to Mia. "We thought it best for you to be the one to make that decision."
"Bella will be executed." Mia said firmly. "But what happened to Edward Cullen?"
"He changed sides while he still had time to. He found out that Bella is not his true mate thanks to Marcus's gist and his own ability to read minds." Aro explained.
Mia nodded. "I want to speak to Bella today. Tomorrow morning, I will lead her execution."
"Are you sure? Is that your final decision?" Marcus asked Mia.
Mia looked straight forward and sat up straighter. "Yes. That is my final decision."
With that, Chris got the record book of executions. Mia signed it and then and there, Isabella Swan's execution was finalized.
