Chapter 1
It was a normal day in Derry, USA. The sun was shining and everything was peaceful. However no children were outside. There had been murders around that area for a few years but no one knew the culprit.
The children were all watched carefully in school. One was a girl with long blonde hair, dark eyes and was wearing a hat to cover a part of her face. She didn't have anything wrong with her but she often did it to try and keep attention off herself. Her name was Lilly, though she never told her last name. She had a White top underneath a dark pink top and a grey skirt. She looked pretty lonely.
There was a group of kids that seemed isolated from the others. They were among themselves and having a good time, even though they were picked on by the class bullies. One of them noticed her loneliness and decided to go see Lilly.
"Hey, are you okay?" the chubby boy asked. "My name's Eddie."
Lilly looked at the boy. She seemed surprised someone had actually come to talk to her. "Uh hi," she says quietly, slightly scuffing her shoes from slight wariness. "I'm Lilly, kinda new around town" she says softly tugging at the bottom of her shirt.
They didn't know that the group of Bullies were there watching them, and Lilly too, with intent to find a way to pick on them.
"It's okay, it's tough being the new kid, I remember..." Eddie said, quietly and slowly nodded. "You look like you need a friend." he offered a gentle smile.
Lilly blinked but smiled. "I'd like that" she says offering a hand pit to be shook. She could instantly tell that she'd like Eddie and would become a close friend with him.
Henry came over to them, not liking that the losers were going to make a friend. He pushed Eddie nastily. "Wouldn't do that if I were you, I mean you could make her ill" he taunts Eddie nastily. He then looked at Lilly. "Plus who'd want to make friends with a girl who covers part of her face" he then says, nastily to her. He knocked the hat off her head.
Eddie smiled and took her hand. He then frowned instantly once Henry and his group came to turn him down. "Hey, leave her alone!" Eddie defended her, taking her hat.
Lilly blinked and looked at Henry with wide eyes. She bit her lip almost harshly as he knocked her hat off.
Henry glared at Eddie "shut up wheezy, or I'll do worse on both of you" he says harshly. He reached out and grabbed Eddie's top at the shoulder.
A rather chunky boy came over with another boy with glasses. "L-Leave our friend, and her alone!" he stutters on the first word from fear of Henry.
"Oh look it's fatso and four-eyes" 'Belch' taunts.
"Stop it, or else!" the girl in the group added, trying to sound as fierce as she possibly could.
Eddie groaned in pain, but he felt relieved a little bit once he saw his friends there to help. Maybe Lilly would feel more comfortable now with a group to protect her. He also hoped maybe he could get her to become one of them.
After seeing all the 'losers' coming up to defend the new girl Henry glared at them all warningly "you better all watch out" he warns them, harshly letting Eddie go, before leaving with his gang as the teacher had called them for something.
Richie helped Eddie up. "You ok?" he asks.
Ben looked at Lilly "sorry you had to meet Henry.." he says.
Lilly gave a brief nod. She then went up to Eddie and gave him a tiny hug before letting go and looking down at the ground. "Thank you all..." she says softly.
"I'll be okay, are you okay, kid?" Eddie assured them, then looked at Lilly, caringly like a brother would a sister.
"Don't mention it," Beverly smirked. "We've dealt with a lot worse than them. You must be new around here, huh? We're the Losers."
"Yeah, I'm ok" she says and took her hat with a smile. "Well, I'm Lilly," she tells them. After putting the hat back on she held out a hand.
Richie smiled at Eddie, then Lilly.
"She should join us, what d'ya think Billy?" he asks. If she joined them they'd have a new friend, hopefully.
Eddie happily shook her hand. "I'm Eddie."
"I-I-I guess that would be okay," Billy smiled a bit at her. "Y-Y-You s-sure you w-w-wanna be seen with g-g-guys like us?"
"There, there," Beverly comforted Lilly. "If no one else will take you, we will."
"I know," she says softly, her voice amused in a friendly way. She smiled at them all gently "I'd love to be your friend and join your group" she says, her nose wrinkling slightly as she smiled.
The others placed there hand on top of Eddie's and lilly's hands. Kind of like a pact movement.
"I-I-It's nice to meet you, L-L-Lilly," Bill welcomed her. "We have another f-f-friend, but he goes to a different s-s-school. W-W-We're gonna meet him a-a-after."
"Yeah, it'll be loads more fun than being in school all day!" Richie said in a crazy voice, trying to sound like a cartoon character, but everyone knew he couldn't do a different voice no matter how hard he tried. They all joined hands and it was fun to have another member to their exclusive, isolated club. They all just silently hoped that Lilly wouldn't become a victim of a cold-blooded killer on the loose of their town. They wanted to warn her, but stayed quiet about it so they wouldn't scare her away
