Chapter 4
The present Lilly, looked at the sign as she passed into Derry. She gave a tiny smile as she remembered the good of that day, but then frowned when she remembered IT was back. She headed to the library. And after parking up went into the library to meet her husband. "Billy?" she calls out, quietly enough to be heard by Billy but not enough to anger anyone.
Bill turned to her, he had changed since childhood indeed. Not to mention that, but he had controlled his vocals after speech therapy, but still had trouble here and there. "Lilly!" he smiled, happy to see her after a long time on the road.
Lilly walked quickly and threw herself into his arms. She always missed him so much when he had to go away on the road. She was wearing one of his t-shirts and a pair of black leggings, her hair coming loose from the loose bun she had put it in for driving. She had been with him ever since they had been able to realise and admit their feelings to each other.
Richie had been driving to go to the place where they had actually arranged to meet. He saw Lilly's car and decided to see if they were in the library. He had changed a bit, now without glasses. He got out of his car and went to see if they were in there. He had kind of stayed in touch with Billy and Lilly, but not much, though Lilly had asked him on car advice when Bill was away and busy. Nothing happened other than him telling her what to do over the phone.
"I missed you so much.." Bill smiled, holding her close. "You look beautiful as always... Sorry to scare you like this, but... It's been 30 years and I found out that IT awakens every three decades..." he informed her of why he called her so early.
"I missed you too, baby" she says softly and rested her head on his shoulder. "I made the promise too, and I'll stick by you no matter what," she says softly. She knew they needed to get rid if it fully. "Can we go and pay respects to Georgie?" she asks softly, wanting to do that before they would have to do what they needed to.
Richie came into the library after parking up.
"Of course, I wanted to see him myself, but it didn't feel right seeing him without you." Bill smiled, taking her hand. Even if Lilly never knew his younger brother, it was still good that she should at least know the kid.
Lilly smiled, her nose wrinkling a guesture that she could never grow out of. "Thank you, baby" she says. She squeezed his hand lightly.
Richie went inside and headed to the receptionist to ask to see if Billy, as she probably didn't know Lilly, was still there. He didn't notice a large newspaper hiding someone from view on the Balcony.
While he was waiting a voice could be heard, one so familiar to Richie. "Hey want a balloon?" came the also familiar question.
Richie's eyes widened. The familiar voice haunted him from this age from well about 30 years ago. "No... No... it can't be..." he murmured quietly.
"Are you alright, sir?" the receptionist asked.
"Erm, yes, f-f-fine..." Richie replied, shakily, still afraid. He tried his best to ignore Pennywise from haunting him, but it was unbearable as he knew that voice too well and saw that IT was indeed hiding behind the newspaper, but only he could see him.
Lilly took a moment to look at Billy's books. She wanted to visit her brother-in-law but needed a moment to make sure she and Billy were fully ready.
"Don't you wanna Balloon? They float!" 'Pennywise the Clown' or IT as the group called it taunts. He then set a bunch of his balloons around to scare Richie. He was also telling jokes, one about some person in a can and one about a refrigerator "... Have ya heard this one? 'Madam is your refrigerator runinng?... It is?! Well you better chase after it!" he says, doing his freaky 'a-ha-ha' laugh.
Richie fidgetted in his seat and sputtered as balloons fell with IT's laughter. The balloons went down and splattered as blood blobs all over people, but no one else could see it. Richie was considered a loon for this and screamed, running off around the library.
"I wish you could've met him, Lil," Billy said, looking out the window of the library before they left. "He was such a sweet kid. Always listening to our parents... He was annoying at some times, but I love him... I always made sure he was safe, it's my fault he died."
"No it's not darling, it's not your fault, you never knew that that could've happened" she tells him softly but firmly. She hugged his arm so they could still walk. She heard the screaming but now needed to comfort her husband, even if the scream sounded a little familiar.
IT laughed and then disappeared ready to taunt the others who were in Derry.
Richie ran to his car, ready to drive away. He'd catch up with the couple in the resturant.
He drove by in a panic and his face paled as he saw his name was on the theater marquee with his birth date and this year as a memoriam. This had to stop, IT had to be destroyed!
"Huh, that sounded familiar..." Bill said to himself, returning the hug. "Come on, let's go see Georgie, I'm sure he'd love to meet you." he gave a small smile and the two were on their way to the cemetery where little Georgie was buried.
Lilly took them in her car, instead of them having to take a Taxi. They never noticed Richie. Soon they were at the cemetery and they got out of the car and Lilly held Billy's hand. "Which one is it?" she asks softly. Her dark eyes were filled with sadness and sympathy. Plus she wanted to 'meet' the boy who was her 'brother-in-law'.
"Shouldn't be too far from here." Billy assured her as they went to the children's graves. He then looked with horror as he saw some other graves have been dug up as well. But why?
Lilly also saw some graves being dug. She frowned gently, before her eyes widened as she saw IT digging. She gripped a little tighter to Billy's hand.
"Heya, B-B-B-Billy," IT starts, making fun of Billy's stutter and then smirked a little wider "and it's pretty little Lilly!" he says. Always felt good to scare the people and make them mad. "You both can have one side by side but not that end one, it's already taken" he says pointing to the mentioned grave.
"What? No....!" Billy sounded really scared and sick to his stomch. "N-N-No!" his stutter returned, now feeling scared.
Lilly held Billy closer to her. She was scared but mad at IT for scaring her husband.
"Th-That's not Georgie's grave... it.s... oh no..." Billy froze with fear as he saw the names on the graves. it was everyone in the Loser's group from childhood to now with their names already in the graves as IT was implying they were next.
"Go away..." she tells the thing and had to close her eyes as a 'scorpion' was 'thrown' at her face as Pennywise laughed. When she was brave enough to open her eyes again everything was back to normal. She had a thought that made her feel truly sick. There were eight graves, and one was filled... Was it the group's 'graves' and if so who had filled their's up?
"W-W-W-Who's g-g-grave is t-t-that?" Billy wondered, getting closer. He saw Lilly's name with the rest of the Losers and saw the one filled had Stan's name on it. "Oh, no..." he whispered in horror.
Like Lilly Billy had to close his eyes. It returned back to normal once his eyes opened.
Lilly was hugging him still, trembling slightly. That scorpion had scared her once again. She had a tight hold though it wasn't a suffocating hold. "We're ok..." she breathes softly, trying to convince herself too. Seeing IT again with her eyes had also scared her. On the marker her name had read her married last name and no other last name.
Bill turned back to Lilly as he turned pale with sweat beading down his face. This was truly the most horrific experience of his life next to losing Georgie to that monster.
