A Heart of Glass
A precious item beating inside her chest
A heart that welcomed every kind of guest
A girl’s heart is strong but unfortunately fragile
If carelessly touched, it would break for a little while.
And after that time it would slowly start heal
Slowly heal the wounds the girl had to feel
The glass was broken but it could still be fixed
Yet it will never be the same as what others might think.
A girl’s heart is an ocean of secrets
She would never tell a soul, so you can just guess
A world of emotions the female jewel can hold
Mixed feelings twirled inside her heart of gold.
Just like a glass the heart can easily shatter
Shatter into pieces inside the cage of its owner
A girl’s simple smile can fool a whole lot
But it takes a special person to see what she’s not
Tears fall down when the heart begins to break
And only time can heal it, that’s all it takes
Tis the boy’s job to keep her heart safe
Tis the boy’s obligation to mend it into shape.
A girl’s heart is not a toy
It’s not something to play with, boy
So handle it with care for it deserves that much
The heart deserves to be loved, loved so much.
