If you

If you knew the real me

The one drowning in self hatred

You would have thought

How I manage to smile and instead not flee

If you felt the pain I do

That brings me to my knees

You would have thought

How lucky you are that it wasn't you

If you saw my tears

That stream down my face at night

You would have thought

That I had seen and lived my greatest fears

If you knew the real reason for my scars

That are every where in my worn out body

You would have thought

That I am like a dying star

If you knew the thoughts

That have taken over my mind

You would have thought

That they reminded you of gunshots

If you knew how all this happened

In this past year

You would have thought

How I could continue to live with this type of fear

If you understood how I ended up this way

Including the pain and all

You would have wondered

How I could smile for others everyday

I did not update yesterday because I did not get the chance too. But I did write 2 poems the day before that.😁 I wrote this really quickly because I have been pretty busy lately and I did not edit this as well so sorry about it. THANK U SO MUCH FOR READING MY POEMS!
