sometimes
i like to think
that i don't have an issue
that i don't need to touch someone
to know they're real
that they care
and other times i like to think
that others have it too
that they need to touch
to feel
to know
and sometimes i wonder
how did this come to be?
was i always like this?
do they always have to leave?
maybe if
i wasn't so close
it would hurt less
when they fade away
