Poetry runs through her mind in waves
Occurring after every emotion
It runs through her veins
and shudders down her back
The words bubble off her lips
Choking up her throat
They dont roll off her tongue smoothly
They catch on her tears and saliva
Poetry spills from her mind to her paper
Her handwriting is messy and fancy and
fluent
The pencil glides over the lines
perfecting any flaws in her wording
And when she finishes it
Her book closes
And she won't open it
Until she feels the poetry thrumming against her fingers
But sometimes
She'll open the book to share
And with it
Her voice cracks and hums
With promise to feel sadness and love again
When she shares
POETRY ECHOS FROM HER VOICE
It hi tches and hicc ups
A part of her heart opens up
Wide enough to let the galaxies shine through
Wide enough to let stars swim in
Wide enough for moons and earths and comets with twin tails to fly in
Perhaps she'll feel full again
The good kind
The kind with requited love in her heart
and sun kissed cheeks
Or star gazing
With the boy you smiled at is looking at how your eyes shine with all the lights in the sky
And wondering how a nebula ended up in your soul
Will it feel like that again?
As if the puzzle pieces fit to the right picture?
As if the rushing heartbeat was replaced by a fluttering, buzzing thrum?
As if love was good and pure again?
Poetry gets lost
With the maze of words that has latched in your head
My dear girl
With the words stuck swirling in your mind
Could you ever hope to believe in your heart like once before?
