Skipping Rehearsals

Once both myself and U-Kwon had finished our coffees and cookies, he pulled out his phone.

"Joesonghabnida!" he suddenly whispered.

"What's wrong?"

"Zico texted me fifteen minutes ago - rehearsals just started! I completely forgot about it! We'll have to drive there ourselves."

I scooted off my chair and onto the floor, and my side was fine. U-Kwon grabbed his coat and then dashed out the door, leaving me to follow. He walked all the way to a car, bleeped it unlocked, then slid in his side. I climbed in the passenger side as he swerved out into the traffic, driving quickly to the studio.

Which is why it is understandable that as soon as we got stuck in traffic, he was annoyed.

"I've already missed half of rehearsal."

"Don't mean to step on any toes here, but from what I could see, you already have the dance down," I offered. He looked at me bewildered, as if he had forgotten I was there at all, then raised his eyebrows at me.

"Hold on," he said, then pulled his phone out and tapped a message out. When he slipped his phone back into his pocket, he had a mischievous look on is face. "If they ask you later, we were stuck in awful traffic."

He swerved the car into another lane, slipped down a back lane, then parked the car in a desolate car park. He climbed out and ran round to my side, then opened my door for me.

"Madam?" he said politely, offering his hand to me. I concealed the smirk on my face, then slipped my ahnd in his and walked with him.

"Why, U-Kwon, you are quite the gentleman."

"I can be when I wish."

I looked ahead to where we were walking, and there was a swing set with two swings. He walked up to one of them and sat down, swinging himself slightly.

"So, what persuaded you to come to South Korea?"

"Umm it was far away from England. And my friend Shannon practically pushed the idea into my head," I laughed. "She is a major fan of yours, by the way."

"Have you heard our music?"

"Only the one song you were dancing to in the studio, I'm afraid. She was always going on about you guys and how great you are, and not skimping on the sexy, but she always switched favourite bands so quickly, so I never got attached. This is actually the longest she's stuck with one band."

"I feel honoured."

"You should, you're her second favourite!"

"Only second?" U-Kwon put a hand to his heart and mocked being hurt by my comment, but I only laughed.

"Nobody could take the place of Jaehyo for her."

He laughed and nodded in recognition. "Do you have a favourite then?"

"Yes, I think so," I said with a smile, then stared down at my shoes. "And no, I'm not telling you," I laughed. "Will the rest of your group be mad at you for missing practice?"

"No, there is usually one of us not there, though it tends to be Taeil more often than any of us."

"Is he the bad boy then?"

"I guess you could say that. He isn't a deviant individual, but he has been known to do his own thing no matter what, whereas the rest of us would usually follow our leader. That hyung could get away with murder," he laughed.

"Okay," I suddenly sat up straight on the swing, then turned and straddled the side rope so that I was facing U-Kwon. "Since you're my translator, we should probably get started. Umm so I call you Oppa, right? Because you're older than me?"
