you are the main character of every love story I've ever written
my mind wanders about us
what could we be
how you would love me so well
and since its not reality
it becomes fiction
on a page
stained with tears
because how badly i want it to be real
you are the ideas behind my poems
the heartbreak that fills the pages
the words that don't quite rhyme
every thought about you has to be put on a page
if not it eats me away
you are why i write
you are the consuming thoughts that haunt me at night
i only want you to close my laptop
and tell me this fiction could be our reality
