SLAM!
The door crashed into the wall as Beckett stormed into the room.
"Oh my... I'll give you two some time." the cop said, exiting the room.
"Beckett, what are you doing? Don't come near me!" Vanessa choked out. She was crying uncontrollably now.
Beckett walked toward Vanessa and hugged her tightly. Vanessa tried to push him away but Beckett wouldn't give up. She finally gave in and cried into his chest.
"Vanessa, I know I wasn't there for you when I should have been. But I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere. I wont let you get hurt, not on my watch." Beckett said, softly. His voice was filled with pure emotion.
"You are so strong, never think otherwise." Beckett continued, "You're right, everything has changed. But the way I feel about you is the still the same. I love you, Vanessa. We all love you."
Vanessa continued to cry into Beckett, clutching his shirt. Beckett kissed the top of her head, and stroked her back, comfortingly. He wished Vanessa didn't have to go through this. He wished he could make the pain go away for her.
Vanessa finally pulled away and looked up at Beckett.
"You should really work on your entrances. I mean, almost breaking the door was nice and all, but maybe a calmer entrance would have been better?" Vanessa joked, still hiccuping from the crying. Beckett smiled, he was glad Vanessa was feeling a little better.
"... Beckett?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you too."
