Vanessa ran down the street. Her knees felt weak. Tears started to pour down her cheeks. She tripped and fell down on the sidewalk. She pushed herself back up, taking deep breaths.

Suddenly, a van pulled up beside her. Driving, was a man in a black ski mask.

"Hello Vanessa. It's been a while." he said, eerily calm.

"What do you want?" Vanessa asked, her voice wavering.

"Get in the car and everything will be okay." he replied.

"No. You don't get to control me." Vanessa said, backing away from the car.

"That was your last chance." The man sprayed her with a mist through the window. Vanessa suddenly grew extremely sleepy. That was the last thing she remembered, before she blacked out.

The man got out of the car, picked Vanessa up, and threw her in the trunk of his car. He drove away.

An hour later, Vanessa woke up. She was tied to a chair. She looked around the room. There were no windows, and a single door. Vanessa's heart raced. She was taken to a different place than she was before. She tried to shake herself free. It was no use. Suddenly, the doorknob rattled. The masked man entered the room.

"Good, you're awake. How are you feeling?" the masked man asked, with a devious smile.

"I've been better." Vanessa replied angrily.

"I would watch your tone, Vanessa." the man said sternly.

"Where are we?" Vanessa asked.

"What makes you think I'm going to tell you?" the man said, walking towards Vanessa. Vanessa tried to scoot the chair away from the man, but she was too slow. The man put a hand on the chair to stop her. He leaned towards her, until their faces were inches apart.

"Listen, Vanessa. Do not test me. I'm going to go out for a bit. No funny business, do you understand?" the man said threateningly. Vanessa whimpered. The man swiftly walked out the door. The lock on the door clicked. Vanessa tried to shake herself free once again, but the ropes were too tight.

"What am I going to do?" Vanessa thought to herself.
