Vanessa and Beckett were still settled in front of the TV, on the couch. Beckett still had one of his arms around Vanessa. Vanessa leaned into him. On TV, a commercial came on for a frying pan. Vanessa tensed up. Beckett noticed, and watched her carefully.

Vanessa was no longer paying attention to anything going on around her. Horrifying flashbacks of her being taken were playing in front of her eyes. She saw memories of her being beaten, with a frying pan. She could practically feel the pain. Her breathing sped up.

Beckett furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Why was she getting so worked up over a frying pan? He noticed Vanessa was breathing heavily. He acted quickly.

"Vanessa? I'm right here. You're okay."

Vanessa heard Beckett, and tried to focus on his voice. Her flashbacks stopped. She saw Beckett, with a worried face, watching her.

"What's up? Are you okay?" Beckett asked, never taking his eyes off of Vanessa.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's nothing." Vanessa said, quickly trying to brush the situation off.

"Vanessa, that wasn't nothing." Beckett said with concern. Vanessa stayed quiet.

"You can tell me, you know. Do you want to go back to the hospital? Do you feel sick? Are you-"

"He hit me. He would hit me with the frying pan. Hard. He would swing so hard, that I couldn't move afterwards. I guess seeing the commercial brought up memories. Pretty embarrassing, right? I'm afraid of a frying pan." Vanessa finally said. Beckett pulled her into a hug.

"Don't be embarrassed, it makes sense. It's kind of like PTSD, I guess." Beckett said to her, rubbing her back. When they both finally pulled away, Beckett looked at Vanessa, studying her.

Beckett saw Vanessa's bruises. It looked like she had been hit, hard. Beckett grew angrier and angrier at the person who took her.

"Who in their right minds would do something like this?" Beckett thought to himself, enraged.

"You are so strong, Vanessa." Beckett said, in awe.

"You keep saying that, and I don't see why." Vanessa replied, sadly.

"You've been through so much. You're amazing. How are you doing this?"

"Beckett, I don't think I could do this without you. You've always been here for me." Vanessa put her hand on Beckett's cheek.

Vanessa and Beckett slowly drifted closer together, until they were inches apart. Vanessa suddenly leaned in and kissed Beckett. This kiss was different from other times. This kiss was passionate and emotional. As the kiss deepened, a tear rolled down Beckett's cheek. When they finally pulled away, they were both out of breath.

"What's wrong?" Vanessa asked, noticing Beckett's watery eyes.

"Sorry. It's just that when you were taken, I thought I lost you. I've never been so scared in a long time. I felt like my world was crumbling." Beckett explained, "And now you're back. And I'm so relieved. It was-"

Beckett was cut off by Vanessa, kissing him once again. Beckett kissed back, as Vanessa ran her fingers through his hair. After a while, they finally broke away.

"I love you."

"I love you too."
