The next day came around. It was a Saturday, which meant no school. Vanessa slept in her room, and Beckett slept on the couch. Beckett was awake, still lying down. Meanwhile, Vanessa was tossing and turning in her sleep. She was having a nightmare about the kidnapping. Except, it wasn't her being kidnapped, it was Beckett.

"No! Stop! Please!" Vanessa said in her sleep.

Beckett heard Vanessa, and immediately ran to her room. He was confused when he saw Vanessa thrashing around, in her sleep. He realized she was having a nightmare, likely about the kidnapping. He rushed over to her bedside, and tried to shake her awake.

"Vanessa! This is Beckett, you're okay! You're safe."

Vanessa's eyes shot open.

"Beckett?" she asked, panicked.

"I'm right here."

"Thank the dance gods." Vanessa said in relief, throwing herself onto Beckett. Beckett embraced her. Vanessa hugged Beckett, tightly.  When they finally pulled away, Vanessa still looked distraught.

"What's wrong?" Beckett asked.

"It was my nightmare. I thought I lost you." Vanessa said, sighing.

"What?" Beckett said in confusion.

"It's just that, well, they took you and I wasn't there. I could've saved you if I was quicker!" Vanessa rambled on, not making any sense of what she was saying, "They were hurting you and forced me to watch. I couldn't-"

Beckett cut Vanessa off with a kiss.

"I'm okay, Vanessa, I'm not going anywhere." Beckett said reassuringly. Vanessa nodded her head.

"Let's go eat breakfast. I can make cereal." Beckett suggested, trying to lighten the mood. Vanessa grinned.

Beckett lifted Vanessa off of her bed, and carried her out to the kitchen.
