Shifting then running.

Running.

I was running and not going to stop.

I wanted to run.

Run away, far away; Even if it was just for a few moments. I needed to get away. Away from my family, the pack, the mating requirement and just about everything else in my life.

The early morning sun shined down light pinks and oranges. Brightening the sky, I loved the way it felt on my fur and the wind. The wind felt wonderful through my white fur.

The trees past me in a green blur, the smell of pine was thick in my nose buy I didn't mind.

I felt the soft moist soil on my paws and enjoyed the feeling; The feeling of being part of the woods. I could smell small animals, the dirt, the trees and all of my surroundings but I took no time in stopping to take it all in.

Panting slightly from the run, I stopped at a stream and lapped at the cool water. It quenched the thrist that was starting to build in the back of my throat.

A wolf padded softly towards me, it was a small tan female wolf. My older sister, Tesha, probably trying to tell me to get my furry butt home to get ready for school.

"Raina, Momma said to come get you or you'll be late for school." Tesha said into my mind

Snarling, I stepped back and shaked my wolf's head.

"Don't be stubborn, Raina, I will drag you back by your tail." her wolf smirked at me.

I growled deep in my chest, Tesha easily jumped on me and sat her self down on my backside.

"Fine! Fine! I'm going! Now get your fat butt off me." I told her. She hopped off me and ran off towards the house. There was no way I was going home already so I stalled and sulked back slowly.

I was close to the house when I smelt Tesha had marked territory on a small pale blue house.

Wonder what for?

Jumping over the fence, I found the exact spot where Tesha marked her territory, just to piss her off I released my bodily fluids to cover up her scent. I was so engrossed in covering up Tesha's mark that I didn't notice the guy running towards me with an umbrella.

He yelled,"Stop peeing on my yard!"

Stopping, I ran back into the safety of the woods,I stood there watching him.

How his dark hair curled at the top of his head, his dark soulful eyes, the way he carried himself with his wide and broad shoulders-all manly and confidently.

Definitely sexy. He smelled of some exotic spice.

As soon I smelt him,my mouth filled with saliva and one word swam through my head.

Mate.

Mate.

Mate.

I knew I wanted him and I was going to have him no matter what.

He had me at "Stop peeing on my yard." Not the first thing you want your mate to say to you but oh well.

I stood there watching him for a few minutes, he went back in too soon for my liking. Snarling, I turned my back and trotted back to my home.

Once showered and dressed, I looked down at myself, hoping it was good enough for my mate to notice me. I wore some skinny jeans, a white tank, and my converse. My hair fell half way down my back in light brown waves. My green eyes had a a bit of eye liner and mascara. Lightly spraying some perfume, I headed down stairs.

Tesha sat on the table eating cereal, Momma stood at the kitchen sink washing a cup.

"Morning Momma!" I chirped.

She smiled, "Mornin' baby. How was your run?" She asks

"Great." I grinned ear to ear, Momma raised an eyebrow at me. I stuck my tongue out at her, she chuckled and shook her head.

"C'mon Raina, time for school." Tesha came behind me and pulled my shirt. I hated when she did that.

"Tesha, stop it. Gosh you act like you're five." I turned to her annoyed.

Both of us left the house, I drove the car just to piss off Tesha. Her arms folded over her chest the entire ride.

At the school, I parked and walked towards my locker. Getting things ready for the day, thats when I smelt it.

That exotic spice.

Him.

It was him.

My mate.

Smiling, I stalked towards him like a wolf stalking his prey.
