You Had Me At "Stop Peeing On My Yard!"

Part 11

Dad and Momma went outside to talk, I noticed as they walked out they held hands. I smiled thinking about Tom and I holding hands like that.

"You okay, babe?" Tom asked, nudging me out of my thoughts. I smiled at him, showing I was perfectly fine. Tesha sat across from Tom and I at the table yet she didn't look too happy.

"Where is he?" She asked, her voice was cold and venomous.

"Where is who?" I questioned.

"Sterling."

"He went to stay with his mom." I shrugged it off, not wanting to think about how he tried to attack me.

"Why? What did you do?" She got up and snared at me.

Tom stepped in before Tesha and I could start to argue,"Raina did nothing wrong, she was attacked and defended herself." Tom looked at me and I saw only pride.

"What did you do to him?!" She screamed at me, her eyes turning black. She was going into blood lust.

"Tesha, you need to calm down. He isn't really your mate. He took something to attract unmated female wolves." I tried to reason with her while be began to shake with anger.

I placed my hand on her shoulder. That's when she lost it; she threw herself on me. Knocking me out of my chair where I was seated. She clawed at my face with her fingernails. She cut into my skin. I hissed in pain when her nails cut into my skin. I tried to pry her hands away and she growled, slapping me across the face. Tom pulled her off me and held her in a tight hold, arms stuck to her side.

Getting up from where she knocked me down, I went outside to get my parents and the alpha. My momma gasped as she looked at my cuts. The alpha and my father ran into restrain Tesha before she hurt anyone else.

Momma lead to the restroom where she found a first aid kit and began to clean my cuts. She frowned, worry lines were visible across her face. "Now why would she do this?" She asked herself.

"She thinks I hurt Sterling."

"Tesha had no reason to do this to her sister. We are family, family doesn't attack each other like this." She tsked as she continued to clean my cuts. I pushed her hands away gently.

"Momma, I'm fine. They're just little cuts. It'll heal in a while." Momma sighed as she put her hands on her hips and raised her eyebrow at me.

"Hey! Miss Carson, is Raina okay?" Tom asked peeking his head in the bathroom.

"Why don't you ask her?" She replied smiling, looking from me to him. Tom walked in and crouched in front of me where I say on the toilet. He took my face into his hands and kissed each cut tenderly. I smiled when he kissed the last one. I leaned into his hands and closed my eyes.

"That's my girl." He says aprrovingly and giving my forehead a small kiss. I opened my eyes and looked into her blue eyes, they sparkled-I was able to see my reflection in their blueness.

"Come on you two, let's go see whats happening in the living room." My mom said. Getting up from my seat at the toliet, Tom takes ahold of my hand and walks with me to the living room. My mom stops us with tears in her eyes.

"Momma, what's wrong?"

"Oh nothing, I just remember how you two would act with each other when you were younger. Tom would pull your hair and you would chase him down and pour whatever you could find on him. I should have known you two were mates." She finishes, wiping tears from her eyes. I look to Tom.

"When did you know we were mates?" I asked him in our linked minds.

"When I saw Sterling touch you. I was so overcome with jealously and wanted to kill him for touching you. For putting that smile on your face when it should be me." Tom looks into my eyes with honesty.

"I wonder what Kerri will say when she finds out her best friend is her brother's mate?" My mother asked; more to herself than to me.

In the living room, only Alpha Nick stood. Before I could ask anything my momma beat me to it,"Where is Jon and Tesha?"

"He took her to see Sterling. I can't help to think that it's possible that they are mates." He answered. Tom scoffed at the idea. I was able to hear his train of thought,"Good for them. Two crazies I won't have to worry about." I giggled behind my hand. Tom looked down at me with a question in his eyes. I shrugged and walked over to the couch and say myself down.

"Momma, when can we go home?" My momma sat next to me and took my hand.

"Well your father and I were gonna wait to tell you and Tesha but since neither of them are here. I shall tell you, your father wants us to come live over here with his pack."

Leave our pack? The one I've grown up with?

"Momma, what about Tom?"

"He can come too!" She says smiling.

Tom wouldn't leave his younger sister, Kerri and his family. Neither the pack and his friends. My chest ached, what if we were separated?

"He won't." My voice cracked as tears formed in eye eyes.

"Of course I will!" Tom states. He is standing in front of my momma and I at the couch. His eyes looked stromy with frustration. I stood up and looked up into his eyes.

"I won't make you leave your family and the pack." A tear slips down my cheek.

"None of them with matter if I can't have you in my life."

I place my little hand on his chest and I shake my head sadly. I won't let him leave his family for me.

"Tom,I love you but I don't want you to give up your life for me."

"Trust me, I wouldn't be giving up anything. I'll have you. You mean everything to me. I can't-"

I cut him off,"No, Tom."

"For Christ's sake! You can't push me away after all we've been through these couple of days. I was going to ask you to marry me!"

That shut me up.

"Raina, lets go talk in the room." My momma said, dragging my emotional butt to the room. She sat on the bed and patted the spot next to her. I cried on her shoulder. It was a while before she spoke.

"Raina, why do you think Tom won't come?"

I sniffed before I answered,"Because he has so much at home and I'm going to ruin it for him."

"But he is your mate. He would do anything for you. He loves you."

I sat silent, pondering. A knock interrupted my thoughts, Momma opens the door and there is Tom. He looks at her as if asking if he can talk to me. Momma leaves and closes the door. I run into his arms and bury my face in his chest. I felt like I was home.

"Babe."

I was silent.

"Baby?"

Silence.

"Damnit Raina, say something." He almost pleaded.

"What do you want me to say?"

Tom sighs then smiles a sad smile and presses his lips to mine. We kissed slowly and tenderly, just savoring each other. He pulled away too soon, my wolf whimpered. Tom smiled and got down on one knee.

Is he doing what I think he's doing?

"Raina Marie Carson, will you do me the honor of marrying me?"
