You Had Me At "Stop Peeing On My Yard!"

I watched as Tom and Sterling stepped towards each other, anxiety was beginning a pit in my stomach. I knew I had to do something and soon. You do not come between a wolf and his mate.

Not that I was Tom's mate but he thinks I am.

"You think it's right to hurt a lady?" Sterling questioned Tom.

"You don't know what happened so you need to keep your mouth shut." Tom answers as Sterling raises his fist. I stand up slowly but feel dizzy and fall back onto the bed with a gasp; both guys turn towards me. Tom rushes to my side and takes ahold of my hand and searches my eyes.

"What's wrong, princess? What can I do? Should I get your momma?" Tom fires questions at me while I can barely understand what he's saying. I stare at him but he is fuzzy around the edges. Sterling pushes past Tom and takes my hands away from him. Sterling's hands are bigger than Tom and cover mine completely.

"I'll take you away from him, Raina. He won't hurt you again." Sterling whispers in my ear as he picks me up bridal style and carries me downstairs."Miss Carson! Miss Carson! Raina's hurt." He bumps into Tesha. She snears at us.

"Mom isn't here." is all she says.

"Where did she go?" He asks.

"Alph-."

I give a slight cough to shut her up and not mention the Alpha. Sterling looks down at me, his face pale. His eyes look scared even though I know my mark will heal faster when I'm near Tom well from what my momma had said.

"Sterling." I whisper as I try to raise my arm to touch his face.

"Yes?"

"Take me to my room."

"No."

"Please."

"Fine but he needs to leave." Sterling says with all the possiveness of a wolf's mate and that made me and proud yet really confused.

He carries me back up and lays me onto the bed as Tom had done earlier. As soon as he did,Tom punched Sterling in the nose. My wolf screamed watching my mate get hurt by someone else who is supposed to be my mate.

Sterling, with blood dripping from his nose, punches Tom in the face.

He growls so low only I could hear it.

It's a warning growl. He wants to shift.

He better not.

Even I want to shift from all the tension in the room.

"You guys stop, there's nothing wrong with me. I'm fine." I say as I look up at them. Both turn towards me but make no move to stop fighting.

"He hurt you, didn't he?" Sterling asks me. I shake my head unable to answer."Then what happened to you, Raina?"

"Some mutt bit me." I say as look at Tom and he smirks. The nerve of that guy. "Can you guys just leave me alone please?"

No one moves

"I'm fine really." I try to smile.

Sterling leaves after a minute,I hear him speed away and my heart leaves with him. Tom paces my room, back and forth, back and forth.

"That means you too,Tom."

"Not a chance, princess." and then he kisses me and I'm lost, not wishing to be found.
