I unlock the door into my apartment that I share with my brother Mitch, in downtown Toronto. I set my heavy backpack down on the couch and grab something to eat. I turn on the tv watching some hockey highlights while I eat my salad. Once I'm done I turn off the TV, do the dishes that Mitch didn't do this morning and go to my room to do some homework.
About a hour later I hear the door open and a bunch of loud deep voices fill the apartment. This signals that Mitch is back from practice and if I want to get any studying done I need to leave or I need to kick Mitch out... Soon I hear a loud voice pulling me out of my thoughts,
"Abby! I'm home. Are you coming to my game tonight?"
"Probably, will Steph be there?" I yell back hoping for a yes because that would be the only reason why I would go.
"Yes! We have to leave in one hour if you're coming."
"Ok! I'll be ready." I look at the clock and see 5:30. I quickly get undressed hop in the shower and quickly wash my body after a long day of learning. Then I pull out a Marner jersey and some blue jeans. I throw those on. I take a look at the clock 6:05
"Shit." I whisper to myself I quickly blow dry and curl my hair by the time I'm done it's time to go. I quickly throw on my adidas take a quick selfie and head downstairs. I sit and wait on the couch waiting for Mitch to come down, while I'm waiting I post my selfie on Instagram

Soon enough I hear Mitch marching down the stairs in his suit with his hockey bag ready for the game. He quickly gives me an up down look to make sure my outfit is appropriate. I roll my eyes as he nods his head in approval.
"Did you check your numbers?" He asked. Numbers meaning my blood sugar levels, I am a type one diabetic and since going to a hockey game is over stimulating I have to check them more often because they can become uncontrollable.
"Not yet, but I will on the way there." He nods opens the door and we are off to the ACC.
We arrive at the arena and go our separate ways. Mitch goes to the dressing room and I go to the lady leafs box. Although technically I'm not a lady leaf I still get to sit there because I know all of the Lady leafs very well. I walk in Steph runs up to me and drags me out,
"Guess who's here!" She says out of breath and nervous. Confused on her state I reply,
"Who?"
"JORDYN!!!!!" She screams,
"Oh ok, well maybe I'll go down to the family room by the locker room and watch the game from down there. I do have a lot of homework to do" Jordyn Johnson... Auston Matthews esteemed girlfriend, well let's just say she ruined my life...
"Ok. I understand, do you want me to come?" I just smile and walk away. I need some alone time. I text Mitch
Abs: I'm coming downstairs and watching in the family room. That bitch is here... Good luck love you!
Mitchy: I'm sorry Abs. I know you were excited to watch, but I have a surprise for after so try to cheer up.
That put a smile on my face. Mitch has never failed to make me happy, he's always there for me. I turn on the TV, pull out my anatomy homework, and get started. All of the sudden I'm being jolted awake,
"Abs wake up we got to go!" I sit up looking around.
"Alright give me a second to clean up and we can go." I pack up my stuff and head out with Mitch. We head out to the parking lot and head back to the apartment. I thought he had a surprise for me but oh well. I'm used to this type of thing, being lied to, being rejected etc. I look out the window of Mitch's car taken in by the bright lights of Toronto. We arrive at the apartment and head up, soon enough I realize that Mitch isn't with me.
"MITCH!" I scream no response, I nervously keep heading up to the apartment scared for where Mitch is. I walk into the apartment and turn on the lights to see Conner Mcdavid.
"CONNER" I scream. I turn around to see Mitch standing there with a huge smile on his face, I turn back to face Conner run to hug him.
"What are you doing here????"
"Mitch said that you needed some cheering up so here I am." I smile and hug him again. Conner is my best friend, and since he broke his collarbone I know he has been bummed (I know this doesn't match up with the timing but you all can deal LOL).
"More like you need the cheering up." I hear my phone ding,

I smile at Mitch and look at Connor,
"Well I'm pooped, Connor where are you staying?" he gives me a look
"Here of course." I give him a look and walk up to my room, I change into my PJ's and hop into bed.
