During the day
I wear too short shorts.
Revealing shirts.
Painfully tall heels.
Straightened hair.
A mask of makeup.
And a fake smile.
But once I'm home
Once I'm alone
The shorts become baggy sweats
The revealing shirts are replaced with cozy hoodies
The heels become fuzzy socks
The straightened hair is pulled into a ponytail
The makeup is wiped away to reveal dark bags under my eyes
And the fake smile is replaced with real tears.
