I back away as they continue to talk.
Logan?
Did Logan try to kill her?
Why?
I rub a hand over my forehead as pain shoots through my head.
She's wrong. Talia has no idea what she's talking about. Logan isn't a murderer.
Right?
He's not. He's so innocent. Logan couldn't hurt a fly. Even if he tried.
I have to get out of here.
These people are crazy.
Suddenly, the same thing that happened in the hallway that first day starts happening again.
I get dizzy.
I put my hand against the wall to support myself.
Why is this happening to me?
Who's doing this to me?
When can I just go home?
I slide to the floor and put my head in my hands as the urge to hurl overwhelms my senses.
"Athena."
I slowly lift my head up and see Logan standing in front of me.
"Logan?" I ask wearily. "Logan, what are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to see you." He whispers.
"How are you here though?"
He doesn't answer but instead shrugs his shoulders. Man, it's so good to see him.
Then I remember what Talia said just a couple of minutes ago.
"Do you kill people, Logan? Did you try to kill Talia?"
Logan shakes his head. "No, Athena. They're lying. Don't believe them."
"I trust you, Logan." He leans down and wraps his arms around me.
I enjoy it for a couple of seconds.
I just think about how I would just want to stay here forever.
Ignore all the crazy stuff going on around us.
But something about it just feels off.
Empty, even.
"Athena!" A muffled voice shouts.
I furrow my eyebrows. "Logan? Did you hear that?"
I pull away and jerk back when I realize Logan is gone and Sara is sitting across from me now.
The color drains from my face as I remember everything they've said about her.
She smiles. "Hi Athena."
