Penny comes back instantly, shrugging her shoulders helplessly.
"Pills? Where are the pills?" Hannah asks with panic in her voice.
"I don't know where they are. There isn't any left, possibly." Penny says.
"Damnit." Hannah mutters under her breath.
I stare at Reece, reminded of how he looks like he isn't even alive anymore.
"How can we wake him up then?" I ask, turning to look at all of them.
Diana glances at Penny. Penny shrugs again.
"He has to wake himself up." Diana says after a moment of silence.
Hannah glances over at them. "Is that even possible?"
"For Reece? It's possible." Diana says. "He can figure it out."
I look down at Reece again, his eyes closed and his body seemingly lifeless.
Gripping his hand in mine, I look back to the group.
"I think I have an idea."

Reece walks out of his house and outside, immediately knowing something is wrong.
The streets are empty, not a single person in sight.
It's quiet, too quiet.
He walks over to his car. That dream car he so wished that he had when he was in the real world.
Not here.
The main character of that book, that stupid book, drove this car.
It was a dumb detective novel. Reece had always wanted the life of that detective and boy, did he get it.
And so much more that he didn't want at all.
Reece gets in his car and starts driving away from the house he's gotten so used to.
A house he plans on never going back to.
Athena disappeared. He could too.
I just need to figure out how.
Reece continues driving and further realizes that something about this is definitely not right.
Nobody's here. Nobody. All the extra people. They're gone.
As soon as he thinks this, a person runs out into the road, her fiery red hair messy and her face sweaty.
