[Adam's POV]

I sighed as I sat in the jail cell. Today is my birthday. I'm twnety-three years old and in jail. I've only been here for a few days and so far I hate it. The one person I have had to keep me company was my younger self. I've been seeing him a lot. I looked over and saw my younger self sitting there reading. The police officer who is in the room watching me thinks I am crazy.

"Adam? I have cake for us." The younger me said.

I looked at him and blinked. How'd he get cake? I was about to ask that when the police officer said

"Where'd the cake come from?"

Then he came in and took it out. I frowned as he shut the cell door and locked it. I grunted and looked at my younger self. He shurgged his shoulders and kept reading. During the past few days I asked him about what he knew what would happen in December. He wouldn't answer and always said, "You'll find out soon enough." Which he was right. I will find out soon enough. I really want to be out of jail.

[Anna's POV]

Today is Adam's birthday. I rode in the car in the passenger seat as Mr. Young pulled into the parking lot to the police station to visit Adam. I got out and went into the station. I asked someone if I could see Adam. They led us down and I saw Adam sitting there talking. I saw a young boy, the younger version of Adam to be exact. I smiled and waved to them. The police officer let me go in the cell and see Adam. He stood up and I have him a hug.

"Happy Birthday, Adam and younger version of Adam," I told him. Adam stared at me with his mouth hanging opened. I put my finger on his chin and closed it, "Yes that's right Adam. I can see the younger you."

"B-b-b-b-but....how.......what?" Adam stuttered

I smiled even bigger. The police officer told me my time was up. I kissed Adam on the cheek and went out.

The end of July came and I sat on the couch with Mr and Mrs. Young. Adam walked in the door and we all jumped up and attacked him hugs. Adam pushed past his parents and saw me. He put his hands on my shoulders and looked at me.

"Anna, I'm glad we aren't separated and that there's nothing bad going on in our lives for a while," Adam said with his eyes getting watery.

I heard his parents suck in a breath. He looks at them.

"What?"

"Adam, it's nothing," Mrs. Young says

Adam's face showed anger.

"Please tell me!" He demanded through gritted teeth

His parents looked at one another then back at Adam. They hung their heads and walked passed. I looked at Adam, he was still mad. I tried to give him a hug but he walked passed me. As he did, his prosthetic gave out and he fell to the floor with a weird half yell half dying wale noise. I laughed a little. The way he fell down, his arms went up and then he fell. I tried to help him up but he swatted my hand away angrily and sat up on his own. He fixed his prosthetic and stood up. I watched him walk back to his room, I heard him muttering to himself. A sigh escaped my mouth. I checked the time on my phone and it blinked 11:30pm. I went to my room and put my pajamas on. Then I went out and stood outside the door of Adam's room. I heard him talking to his younger self

"Yeah but if I do it what will she say?" I heard Adam ask

"I don't know. Look you gotta do it soon. Her birthday is August fifteenth right?" I heard the younger version of Adam say

"Yeah why?"

"That's when you'll do it. You have to do it then or it won't work." The younger version of Adam said

Adam sighed. They continued talking. What were they talking about? I knocked on the door.

"Adam? Can I come in?" I asked

"Go away, Anna!" Adam yelled

I forced back tears. Slowly, I turned around and headed towards my room. Halfway down the hallway, I looked behind me to see if Adam would come out. He didn't. Sighing, I went in my room, closed the door, and laid down in bed staring at the ceiling. I kept myself up wondering what the younger version of him meant by 'That's when you'll do it. You have to do it then or it won't work.'

"I'll ask Adam later," I muttered to myself as I drifted off to sleep a few hours later.
