[Adam's POV]
We drove to our hotel. Man, Ohio was nice. It was also smelly too from all of the horses. It felt good to be back in the US. Although it did have its draw backs. Like no exotic foods or places and other things. The hotel was small, i mean really small. We each had to get our own room. My room had a TV, a bed, a bathroom with a shower and a couch. Why a couch? i unpacked and went to see what the others were doing. They all were in the lobby chatting, when they saw me they stopped talking.
"What is it?'
"what we were just talking Adam, there noting to worry about" Breanne said
"oh really" I protested
"Fine, Steve wants you to work on another album while you are on tour" Jasper told me
i couldn't believe it. i smiled and ran to them. They got up and gave me a big group hug. We all were cheering when the manager told us to quite down. We stopped and sat down.
"so what should I call the album?" I asked everyone
"how about 'Ocean Eyes'" Daniel suggested
"perfect thanks" i told him
I ran back to the room and grabbed a notebook and a pen and sat down on the couch and started jotting ideas down. I came up with five songs in three hours. They are
1. Cave In. run time 4mins and 3scs
2. The Bird and the Worm. run time 3 mins and 28secs
3. Hello Seattle. run time 2mins and 48secs
4. Umbrella Beach. run time 3mins and 51secs
and
5. The Saltwater Room. run time 4mins and 3secs
After I finished them and figured out the music to it. I decided that we'd play them tonight at the concert.
Time passes
We were back stage rehearsing the new songs when it was time to go o.
"alright, Breanne you know when to sing in 'The Saltwater Room' Right?' I asked her
She nodded her head.
I let out a puff of air and went on stage. The crowd cheered. I waved and took hold of the microphone.
"Hey how's everyone doing tonight?"
They all cheered again. I had goose bumps crawling up and down my arms.
"well I have five new songs tonight and there from a album in progress," i said
the intro to 'Cave In' started. I took a deep breathe.
Please take a long hard look through your textbook, 'cause I'm history
When I strap my helmet on, I'll be long gone 'cause I've been dying to leave
I'll ride the range and hide all my loose change in my bedroll, 'cause riding a dirt bike down a turnpike always takes its toll on me
I've had just about enough of quote "diamonds in the rough" because my backbone is paper thin
I was getting in the grove of things. Pretty soon I was ending the song:
'll keep my helmet on just in case my head caves in
'Cause if my thoughts collapse or my framework snaps, it'll make a mess like you wouldn't believe
Tie my handlebars to the stars so I stay on track
And if my intentions stray, I'll wrench them away, then I'll take my leave and I won't even look back
When it ended everyone screamed. I jumped a little. I looked at Jasper and the gang and they started the next song, which is 'the Bird and the Worm'.
i sang the chorus
You and I left our troubles far behind
But I still have just one more question on my mind
For all my pals who live in the oceans and the seas
With friends like these, well who needs enemies?
Then that song ended and I sang the rest.
"Good Night everybody" I said as I left the stage.
I felt adrenaline rushing through me. I didn't mess up! Yes! I piratically skipped to the tour bus. I was in a good mood and despite my introverted self I talked to some of the fans. I took a few pictures and went in the bus. I closed the door and he driver drove us to our hotel. As we entered the elevator the gang just stared at me.
"okay you guys are creeping me out, what is it?" i asked
"you didn't mess up at all!!" They all said together
i was too stunned to say anything. i found myself looking at the ground. The elevator stopped and we reached our floor. Before i went into my room, Breanne told me that we'd have to get up early tomorrow because we are diving to our next place, which was Ceder Rapids,Iowa. I entered the room and plopped down on the bed. i thought about what happened at the concert, they were right I didn't mess up and make a fool out of myself. Steve was right also, people like me. I sat up and grabbed my phone and decided to call Anna. It rang for a few minutes and it went straight to voice mail. I left a message then went to bed.
Ceder Rapids, Iowa here I come.
