[Anna's POV]

I watched myself as my hands swiftly put ingredients into a big bowl. I'm making brownies because I want to. I don't care what Adam says. Right now he is out talking with his manager to try and get his music career back. I hope he gets it back. A few weeks ago I saw him go down to the basement, yell in frustration and come back up. He seems so distant these past few days. Like I'm invisible. I remember when he first started doing Owl City. Talk about invisibility then that went on for two months or so! I got out the mixer thing and mixed the ingredients together until it turned dark brown and thick. I smiled and tasted it with another spoon. Tasted fine. I got out a pan, turned the oven on, put the batter into the pan and placed it in the oven. I set the timer for five minuets and walked out of the kitchen. I heard someone on the piano. Is Adam back already? I didn't hear him come in. I went to the room with the piano and saw Adam. He was playing a song I didn't know. He was singing and I caught the words 'Strawberry Avalanche'. I've never heard that song be for. When he stopped singing and playing I clapped my hands and walked towards him. Adam jumped, yelled, and fell backwards off the piano bench. His legs hit the bottom of the piano and his head came in contact with the floor in a loud CRACK. I bent down to see if he was okay. He was laughing as he got up.

"You gave me quiet a scare, Mrs. Young" he said as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Well. You needed it, Mr. Young," I replied while laughing and giving him a hug.

Adam kissed the top of my head. He smelled like aftershave and coffee. Then I remembered that he was out and about. I let go of him and looked Adam in the eye.

"How'd it go with your manager?" I asked

He frowned. He looked like he was on the verge of tears. He walked over to the window and looked at it. Adam put his hands behind his back.

"I don't wanna talk about it right now," Adam said with a hint of anger in his voice.

I knew better than to pester him with more questions. I made that mistake last week. We were talking about AnnMarie and such when he was getting upset and I kept bugging him. Then he ended up yelling at me. I was brought back to reality when I heard the timer go off for the brownies.

[Adam's POV]

I stood at the window looking out and hearing Anna in the kitchen in the back ground. A tear slowly rolled down my cheek. This is how it went with my manager. He said the fans knew I attempted the murder of Jasper Nephew, a fellow band member and that my fans hate me. I can deal with that. He also said that I'm a creep. That hurt. He personally said that I was a creep. My manager added that I would never get my reputation back so I should quit music and focus on Anna and being a father. That was reasonable advice I'll give him that. But I can never quit making music. I'll do it in secret if I absolutely have too. I mean, I've been doing Owl City for two years, in two thousand and seven, it's two thousand and nine now. In fact, I've been avoiding Anna for the past few days. I don't mean to but I do. I'll make it up to her sooner or later, somehow. I heard Anna behind me. A heavy sigh escapes my mouth as I turned around and saw her holding a brownie. I grabbed it and took a bite. It tasted good. I gave her a thumbs up as I put the rest of the brownie in my mouth. I laughed as I cleaned my hands on my pants. She smiled and walked back to the kitchen. Then, I heard Anna scream and something shatter. I rushed into the kitchen and saw the glass pan broken on the floor. I got the broom and cleaned it up.

"You okay?" I asked as I put the broom down

"Y-yeah. I'm fine." She said. I could tell she was shaken up.

I held my arms open and Anna came over. I wrapped them around her. She started crying. I made soothing noises and her sobs died down. My hand stroked her hair. Anna pulled away and headed upstairs. What time is it? I looked at the clock. It blinked 3pm. I've been out for an hour. I looked at her.

"Adam I going to take a nap. Wake me if you need anything," she called as she went upstairs.

I chuckled. Then I thought about music. I remembered back when I found about that Jasper was taking that strange drug back in April of two thousand and eight. My eyes grew wide in realization It's been that long since I've made music?! In two months it'll be a year since I've been making music. I ran out side, grabbed a shovel and was getting ready to dig up the key to turn on the computer when I also remembered that my manager said I should quit. Angrily, I threw the shovel down and stormed inside. Then it started raining. I sighed heavily and went into the den and sat on the couch. With the rain pitter-pattering against the roof, tiredness swept over me. I grabbed a blanket, laid down, and fell asleep.
