Maria's POV

I am now walking with my colonel here in the headquarters.

"Would you wait for me here while I'm on the fuhrer's room?," he asked.

"Sure, no problem Sir.," I saluted him.

I wait here for a long time.

A few moments later I saw Lt. Hawkeye. I saluted her since she's a bit higher in terms of ranking, you know. She's my senior anyways.

She gave me a small smile ......... as always.

This stern lady. I really wonder why Roy had that kind of special feelings for her. Well, I must admit, she's beautiful and smart. Something in common about them is that they are both coward. Coward to confess their feelings towards each other.

Yeah yeah I know there's something between me and the colonel. However, I knew that if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be his secret girlfriend. We've got to this plan for the sake of her future.

I have feelings for him too. But I knew he'll never love me the same way as he loves her. From the way he looked at her. From the way he smiled because of her. He's happy because of someone else.

"Did I keep you waiting?," he  asked.

I smiled at him, "No Sir."

Roy's POV
I really love having Maria by my side. She's not stern and she's a girl who always has her smile for everyone. If my assistant is Riza I would be dead now by her eyes.

She look at me while we were walking, "What's wrong?"

I smirk and said "No, nothing! Don't mind me."

"I saw her."

I stopped, "Who? Riza?...... I mean Lt. Hawkeye?"

"Yeah."

"Uhmmm I see! So, how is she?"

"She looks good."

"Did she mentioned something about her marriage?"

"No, she didn't even speak to me."

"Oh ok!"

"When do you plan to confess?"

I stopped. "I don't know! I don't have any plan yet."

Maria's POV

If that happens, that would be my worst nightmare ever. I don't want that to happen but that nightmare is the reality. They are both in love with each other while I'm just a rebound.

Flashback
I followed him after we've heard the conversation of the fuhrer and Lt. Hawkeye.

We were at the rooftop of the hospital building.

"You heard it too, right?," he began.

"Yeah."

"I always think about my ambition and I forgot to think about her future. The kind of future she'll never have with me."

"Don't think about it that way Sir.," I slowly walked close to him.

He smiled a little.

"I see how important she is for you. Why don't you try to confess? I'm pretty much sure that it'll turn out fine."

"Our relationship. It will never happen. Why? Because we promised to each other that after this journey, we will pay our debts, the lives that we took from the war."

"What's your plan now?"

He turned his face to me, "I don't want to make her worry. I have to do something. Lt. Maria Ross, would you be my girlfriend?"
