So, have you ever been sleeping really well and then have some annoying noise wake you up? Basically that’s what happened. We didn’t wake up when she came in the door and there’s no telling how long she stood there and looked at us before she decided to be a bitch.
“Um, I really hope this isn’t what it looks like,” Selena’s voice like screws being drilled into my ears.
I half-opened my eyes, the light blinding me. I noticed how I was laying. Justin was positioned with his head resting on the arm of the couch and I was lying face down between his legs, my head resting on his chest with one of his arms wrapped loosely around my shoulders. How we got to this position has yet to be determined.
“Oh shut up,” I groaned, my voice sounding almost as tired as I still was, “I don’t want to hear your voice so early in the morning.”
It was sort of already silently established that I didn’t like Selena, but I’d never said anything this rude to her. I heard her scoff and she shifted her weight.
“Justin needs to get up, he has a flight to catch this afternoon,” she said in a snotty tone.
“It’s not until 4, babe,” he spoke up and I could feel the vibration of his voice on the side of my face as my head still rested against his chest.
“You need to pack,” she said.
“Selena, it can’t be passed ten in the morning right now. I’m sure I will have time to pack, just please let me sleep for a little longer. I’m not going to miss my flight,” he said.
“Well I have to go catch mine at one, aren’t you going to say bye?” She asked.
“Bye,” I said in a mocking tone and I could feel Justin’s stomach muscles flex as he held in a chuckle.
“It’s not funny, Justin. She’s really mean to me,” she whined.
“Selena, I’m sure you wouldn’t be very nice either if she came and woke you up and silently accused her of whatever it is you think happened. To tell you the truth, we fell asleep and we’re just as curious on as to how we got into this position as you are, but we’re comfortable so when you leave we’ll probably just go back to sleep,” he said, just being honest.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you, Justin, but I’m sure Aiden is the reason why you’re acting this way,” she said.
“Selena, just go for right now. I know it’s hard to believe that I’m actually pretty content with how things are right now, but you’re kind of ruining it. I’ll see you in Texas,” he said and turned his head to go back to sleep. I heard her storm out of the room, the heavy hotel room door slamming with a loud bang.
“We’re going to Texas?” I asked quietly.
“Yeah, it was supposed to be a surprise,” he said and I didn’t reply, just closed my eyes to go back to sleep.
By the time I woke up again we had, again, repositioned ourselves to where we were laying side by side, facing each other. Justin’s arm was still draped over me, which this was most likely to keep me from falling off the side of the couch. I opened my eyes sleepily and craned my head backwards to look at the clock. It was now noon. Should I wake up Justin? Or let him sleep a little longer.
I quietly glanced at his face, so calm. His eyebrows not furrowed like they usually were, mostly because I’d been giving him a hard time. His lips were slightly parted and his breathing was steady. I thought for a moment before deciding to let him sleep. I silently got up off the couch and tip-toed to the bedroom, shutting the door quietly so that I could get dressed.
I opened my suitcase and pulled out some random articles of clothing. I went to change my shirt and as it was over my head I noticed that it smelled like Justin. You know how some people have a distinct scent to them? Well Justin’s scent has always secretly been intoxicating to me. I stood there with the shirt in my hand and listened intently for movement outside the door before I inhaled deeply into my shirt and smiled.
Before things got weird, I continued to change into my different clothes and put my dirty clothes back into the suitcase and zipped it up. I slipped on my shoes and went to go back into the living room. I opened the door and saw that Justin was now sitting up on the couch.
“Did I wake you up?” I asked and he turned quickly, his hair a mess.
“Kind of. I noticed you were gone and it woke me up,” he said.
“Sorry, I wanted to go ahead and get changed,” I said, fighting back a blush as images of the way we slept popped into my mind.
“It’s okay, it’s about time to get up anyways.
“Alright, well, I’m gonna go downstairs and get some coffee,” I said.
He nodded, “okay, I’ll get dressed and start packing.”
I grabbed my purse and my cell phone and walked out the door. It had barely shut behind me when I saw Selena, exiting a room a couple doors down the hall way. We made eye contact and I could see the intense resentment she had for me. Unafraid of her, I shoved past her, sticking my tongue out and flipping her the bird with a nasty chuckle.
