Ben Hanscom
Ben was studying in the library like usual when the chair in front of him jolted outwards. He looked up startled at the sudden movement, and saw you smiling right at him.
" Hey! Sorry, did I scare you ??" You whispered to him as you slid into the seat. He shook his head and returned your grin.
" No, its fine (y/n). " Together, you sat in silence and worked peacefully. When you had finished writing your short essay on the American Revolution, you glanced up and saw Ben still engrossed in his book. He had his headphones on and was swaying slowly from side to side.
" Whatca listening to ?? " You pulled the headset off and placed it over your own ears. You noticed Ben blushing slightly and paying attention to anything but your face. The sound of NKOTB was playing in your ears and you giggled a little.
" New kids on the block ? "
" I don't even like them! It was just on my play- "
" Relax Ben. I'm not saying anything! They're a cool band! Wanna get some ice -cream and listen on the way?"
He stared at you for just a moment, not taking his eyes off of your delicate features. Ever since he had moved to Derry......Ben Hanscom was a nobody. Just known as the "new fat kid" that the Bowers gang was always after. But you? You never saw him as anything less than a real person. Someone with feelings that could be hurt, in a world where things were cruel sometimes. You never judged Ben, and you always cared about his interests.....Even if it was all about history. All he wanted was to be appericiated and understood.
And you always did just that for him. He loved you! He really did....💓
Mike Hanlon
It was a hot day at Mike's family farm. He was currently tossing chicken feed into the coops, and you were lying down on a railing petting one of the horses. Mike was so caught up in taking care of the birds, that he almost missed you talking to his horse.
" Yes, I know. He doesn't pay much attention to me. He only cares about the noisy little critters in that cage. ALAS HORSE! It is a sad, sad day for me. Rejected, left alone, and thrown to the curb." You dramatically placed a hand over your forehead and turned to face Mike, who had placed the bucket down and was walking over to you.
" How was that ?" You asked as he was looking down at you. Mike smiled and pinched your cheeks.
" Adorable." You giggled and sat up slowly.
" Grandpa doesn't like me communicating with the animals. He thinks it's wrong to build a connection, only to slaughter them later." He reached over a stroked the horse's mane. It snorted in approval and you frowned.
" That's not right. They have souls too, they just want a good life like us. What's wrong with making friends huh? " You pet the horse once more and laughed when it rubbed its nose against you.
Mike looked at the way you smiled. How was it that you were the only one that understood him? I mean maybe he didn't have his parents. They would always be a part of him, but not having them here was hard. You always seemed to make things easier though. Somehow you always found a way to make him feel happy, you two shared the same points of view on all most everything as well. Whenever he needed someone to talk to, he would never wait to go to you.
And he hoped to keep coming to you for the rest of his life💛
Beverly Marsh
She always knew she had a thing for you. Beverly Marsh understood herself and her emotions. But she never knew that she loved you, like more than a friend, until today.
The both of you had just spent a long day with the Losers at the quarry. At the moment, you were both laying down on two towels right next to each other. Your eyes were closed and she was wearing a pair of thick sunglasses, so you hadn't noticed all the boys just staring at you two. When you finally looked up, the Losers scattered and not-so-casually turned away. Richie was messing around in Ben's bag making stupid accents, and even yanked out a blue folder.
" What's with the history lesson?" He started flipping through the pages and handed it over to Bill, who was reaching out across Ben to grab it.
" Well when I first moved here, I didn't really have anyone to hangout with. So I started spending time in the library."
" You went to the library?? On purpose ??" Richie gave him a confused look and pushed his glasses up against his nose.
" People do that. Not like you woud know Hoezier." You were laying on your stomach, propped up against your elbows. Richie gave you a sly look and pretended to speak into a phone.
" Hi officer! Yes I'd like to report high levels of sass and hotness in Derry this afternoon." He tossed you a wink and you rolled your eyes. He continued to tease until you flipped him off, and Beverly laughed.
" I wanna see!" She said before sitting next to Bill and peeking over at the mess of parchment.
You took a seat on the rock next to her and leaned over to see as well. That's when you noticed Bill staring over at Bev's hair. How had you not seen it before!!
" Beverly Marsh!! Your hair looks beautiful!! It suits you so well. " You placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled. Beverly grinned back at you in return, while deep in thought.
You just never missed a chance to compliment her. Anytime she was around, you called her goregous or pretty or stunning. And to be completely honest, when you said those things, she truly felt beautiful. All her life, Beverly thought that feeling young was a bad thing. She never wanted to be little because of her own father. But when she was with you, being young didn't seem so bad. You gave her a sense of freedom and wildness. You made her feel amazing about who she was and what Beverly Marsh was going to become.
She was glad you were going to a part of that as well.
" Thanks (y/n) "💜
