Chapter 3

Hazel

Hazel felt very bad. if she had turned around and had stabbed Euryale, Percy would have still been there. All the six were now sitting in the mess hall for a meeting. Piper was trying to comfort Annabeth. Leo was tinkering with a strange device. Frank? well... frank was just staring into space next to hazel. He was beating himself up because he had distracted Percy. he thought it was his fault. Jason was trying to conduct the meeting but he just couldn't. Jason stood up and cleared his throat and six pairs of eyes looked up to him. "So...We have to keep going towards Athens. we hav-" "what ?! What about Percy ?! we are just going to leave him ?!" Annabeth shouted and stormed out of the room. Jason just stood there looking shocked. "Leo we are not chancing course. Meeting adjourned." he said and stalked out of the room, piper trailing behind him. Leo mumbled something about spheres and left to the engine room. frank turned to hazel. "so...what do you want to do ?" he asked. "well I am kind of tired....so I think I'll take a short nap." hazel said. frank nodded. hazel went to her room and and once her head touched the pillow she fell asleep. unfortunately the short nap made her regret for sleeping. In her first dream she saw Reyna, Nico and coach Hedge. Nico looked drained out of energy. he looked paler than usual. Reyna was no better. her usually dark eyes were drained out of color. her dark hair was tangled with leaves and twigs. coach looked sleep deprived other than that he was fine. "Nico, can you make another jump?." Reyna asked. Nico shook his head miserably. just then hazel saw a hell hound pounce on Nico and dream dissolved. next hazel saw Percy. his hands were stretched and chained to two pillars. his face was gaunt with scratches. his dark messy hair looked colorless. in other words he looked terrible. just the an empousa came. "Perseus Jackson. what a pleasure!. Remember me?." she purred. "Kelly..." Percy said weakly. Kelly laughed an evil laugh. she had a long wip in her hand. she lashed it out on Percy's back and he cried out in pain. suddenly a sleepy voice rang out. hazel immediately recognized it as Gaea's voice. "now, now Kelly we shouldn't treat our guest like that. Perseus Jackson now to ask you again. will you join us ?. your friends and your girlfriend, everyone you love will be spared. what do you say ?." she asked. "never. I will never join you, Gaea !!!" he shouted feebly. "very well then. Kelly treat our guest well." the last thing that hazel heard was Percy's cry of pain.
