Frank

Frank didn't like Gryphons. He simply dispised them. Sure, he could turn into one if he wished but they were just so annoying, plucking up people every once in awhile. Now, he had to wait for Jason to save him. How Heroic of you Frank!. You must be thinking, 'why can't he just turn into something big and escape?'. You see, the problem is that Frank wasn't exactly in a comfortable position to change. From where he was, he couldn't exactly concentrate. In the mortal world people weren't really accustomed to seeing a roaring lion fall from the sky. So, he just lay there, uncomfortably in the Gryphon's claws while his friend furiously hacked at its buddy, who was flying on its right. After a few minutes, Frank's face was covered with gold dust. "Uh...where exactly are we now?" Jason asked as he stuffed an ambrosia into his mouth. Frank looked around and saw a sign: 5 Km's Crete. (AN: I made that up.)He pointed at it. Jason's eyes widened, before he slumped forward in exhaustion, instantly drifting off to a deep sleep. Frank wasn't bothered. It was already turning dark. He made a small fire and sat next to Jason, keeping watch. His mind drifted off to his friends on the Argo II. And moved on to his friends at Camp Jupiter. He thought about his wonderful girlfriend. Were they all safe? Was Percy cured of his illness? Despite his quest, Frank found himself worrying for his friends. The cold wind blew harshly against his face and Frank moved closer to the fire. He kept watch for a long time before Jason woke up and told him to sleep. Frank didn't protest. He was really tired. He curled up near the fire, falling into a deep slumber plagued with dreams.
"Son of Mars...having a nice nap?" Gaea's voice echoed inside Frank's head. "oh, Gods. what'd you want, lady? Can't I get a proper nap without you intruding?" Frank asked. he didn't get a reply except for a low snarl. A figure formed out of mud. Gaea was...beautiful.. Her skin was dark, like the earth. Her dark green gown reached the floor. It was beautifully embroiled with gold thread. Her hair was darker than black, falling down her shoulders in soft curls. Her face was perfect with high cheek bones and soft lips which were pulled upwards in a cynical smile. Her eyes were the only ones that indicated her being the Evil Earth Mother. They were a poisonous, olive green with specks of brown. They were only half open. Frank felt the power radiating off of her skin. "I am almost awake, Zhang. when I wake up, I will destroy everything that you puny demigods hold dear. I will reduce all of you to smithereens!". Frank stood straight. The odds were bad. there was no guarantee that they would defeat Gaea but they had hope. "Your wrong" Frank said calmly, that Gaea seemed taken aback. "Your wrong because we will win. We may be small and puny but we have things that you will never experience. Family. Friends. Love. Hope. You will never know what it feels like. And we will defeat you no matter how bad the situation is". Gaea let loose a feral growl and Frank jolted awake.
