Chapter 16

Leo

Leo was manning the ship when he heard noise on the deck. He put the ship on autopilot and quickly grabbed his hammer and went out. He looked around but the deck was deserted. Weren't percy and Annabeth on the night shift ? Leo thought. He went down to Jason's room. He knocked and he heard Jason's voice telling him to come in. "Leo? What are you going here? and whose flying the ship?" Jason asked. "the ship's on auto pilot. And came here to ask whether you have seen Percy and Annabeth." Leo asked. "No....why do you ask?" Jason asked getting down from his bed. "because they're not on the deck." "lets go check there rooms". Jason suggested. they first went to Percy's room but he was not there. Jason said that they might have got together and would be in Annabeth's room. but to there dismay it was empty. Now both of them were panicking. Jason called a meeting. "where's Percy and Annabeth ?" hazel asked. "that's the problem they're missing." Leo said. "what?! what do you mean they're missing?!" piper asked. Leo and Jason were about to tell them about their searching trip when a a mist formed at the table. it was an Iris Message. when the screen formed they all were terrified to see a beat up Percy hanging by his hands from two chains. His eyes were closed and tears rolled down his face. Something was definitely wrong. Percy never cried. Not when he was threatened, not even he was about to die. Leo might not know but he knew that Percy was loyal and strong. He was muttering Something. All the people at the table listened carefully. Before they could decipher what he was saying they saw a flash if familiar blonde hair. Leo sighed with relief when he saw Annabeth moving toward Percy. But Percy was not smiling he was trying to free himself. Only then did everyone notice that Annabeth had a dagger which had bright red blood on it. Hazel and Piper gasped. Everyone was probably thinking the same thing. Was that Percy's Blood?. Leo was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a blood curling scream. He looked at the screen and saw 'Annabeth' whipping Percy. Leo saw hazel and Piper closing their eyes and covering their ears. When Percy stopped screaming he lifted his head up. His eyes widened when he saw the screen and then he smiled sadly at Leo first and then at everyone. He turned his attention back to Annabeth. "Annabeth...... this isn't you.... stop doing this to me. Remember who you are. Don't make the same mistake that Luke made. Please stop." Percy said his voice coarse without drinking water. Annabeth didn't answer instead she did something that Leo stopped breathing. She plunged her dagger into Percy's stomach. Percy didn't even scream he just smiled again at everyone. Hazel and Piper were crying. "its okay guys. Just go onto Athens. I think Annabeth will join you after she's back in her right mind. Just promise that you won't hurt her. Just promise....." Percy said and his body went limp.

"We promise,Percy." Jason said, he was close to tears. just before the scene disappeared Leo saw Annabeth bend down and hug Percy, crying. And Leo knew that she was back. when the scene changed the screen read something and Leo realized with a start that it was a prophecy :

The Son of the Sea shall perish by the hand of his loved one.

But shall return when the God of Death gives him life.

The Sons of War and sky shall set out to seek the sword of Achilies

The Son of Forge shall free the trapped

The Daughter of Dove will make a choice to save

"Rachel Elizabeth Dare. She's the oracle of Camp Half Blood." Jason said his face white. "The spirit of Delphi lives inside her. She recites the prophecys." Frank and Hazel nodded their heads looking miserable. they didn't care about that. They had just watched their friend get killed by his own girlfriend Leo himself felt bad. He may not have known Percy but he knew that Percy was a good friend. "Now let's talk about the Prophecy. the first line." piper said wiping of her tears. "the first line. The son of the sea is obviously Percy. And it has already happened" Jason said. Leo looked around the table. Hazel was crying and Frank was not comforting her because he himself was about to break. Jason was staring off into space while piper absentmindedly started braiding her hair. they all looked dejected. "Guys! come one its not the end of the world! Te second line said that Percy will be raised back by Hades. he'll come back." Leo said and the mood in the room changed. "you really think he'll come back?" hazel asked, looking hopeful. Leo nodded. they discussed the rest if the prophecy. Jason and Frank were going to find the sword of Achilles. Leo was going to free calypso. They were going to set off in the morning. The girls were sad but they knew that it had to happen. Leo went his room and started packing things for his journey. He set the astrolabe to Calypso's island with the crystal that she had given him. This time Leo was going to bring her back.
