Chapter 27

Percy

Percy's idea of dying had nothing to with being killed by an old mythical sea monster. The huge octopus-like creature looked....well, it looked simply ugly. Percy may not be a son of Aphrodite but he knew the difference between looking pretty and ugly. It reeked of old shoes which hadn't been washed for 5 months(don't ask him how he knows). he thought back to the old myth on how Perseus, the son of Zeus had defeated it. He used Medusa's head to turn it into stone. For the first time in his life Percy regretted killing a monster. An idea quickly formulated in his head. "Jason strike it with thunder! Piper, distract it by charmspeaking.! Frank, Shoot arrows. Hazel, attack left, Annabeth attack right, I'll take the front!" He yelled and everyone attacked. Jason flew into the air. Piper did a good job in distracting it, Frank shot arrow after arrow which pierced the kraken's skin. Hazel and Annabeth hacked ferociously. Percy saw all this in a minute as he lunged forward with Riptide held forward. The sword sunk hilt-deep into the skin of the monster and that's when Percy heard its thoughts. 'Lord! Spare me! Please!' It yelled. 'do you swear on the River Styx that you won't harm my friends later?' Percy asked. 'Yes! I swear on the river Styx that I won't harm your friends! Now please stop hurting me!' It cried. "Guys! stop attacking!" Percy yelled and all his friends looked at him like he had grown a third head. "it's sworn on River Styx not to hurt us." he explained and all of them stopped. Before anything could happen a slobbery tentacle grabbed his leg and started pulling him down into the sea. 'But I didn't swear not harm you!' It said and pulled him into the cold water. Percy heard his friends shouting and calling his name before he slipped into darkness.

--------TIME LAPSE-------

Percy woke up in chains for the third time. What surprised him was that he was underwater. And not hurt. He looked around and found the cell looked pretty cool. it was fully blue and had seashells stuck on it. Percy thought of an escape plan. His plan wasn't looking good. His hand inched to his pocket and found his trusty sword. Atleast he had Riptide. The cell door and a man stepped in. He had brown curly and on it rested a crown made of bronze with stones embedded. Percy for one had no idea who this guy was. so he simply stared at him. "I am Pontus, The mighty son of Gaia!" he said. only then Percy understood. this guy was one causing trouble for dad. "So your the old hag that has been causing troubles for dad!" Percy exclaimed cheerfully. The expression the Pontus's face was priceless. "you dare! you dare call me an old hag! you pathetic sea scum!." he yelled and punched Percy's face. The pain was not too much for him, cause he had endured more pain than from some lousy punches. "That's the best you got, oldie?" Percy taunted. Pontus punches him again and leaves the cell. Commotion in there had caused a lot of fishes and mermaids to surround the secluded cell. 'It's the Sea Lord's son!' One marlin exclaimed. 'yes! he saved me last summer from a dirty pond!' another fish said. A lot of 'me too's' were heard around. Suddenly without warning something big slammed against the cell, breaking the walls. There was a great white shark floating there majestically. Tiny small creatures like mermaids swam in and freed Percy off his chains. He thanked them and swam out only to find that the Argo II was long gone. He asked the fish around whether they had seen something and they said that they had infancy seen a big 'whale' on the surface of the sea. Percy knew that he would never make it to the Argo in his condition. And the strange thing was that the water was not healing him. His wrists and ankles hurt because of the chains. He just wanted to curl up and sleep, but he knew he couldn't. His friends would be freaking out. He had to get back fast. But he was just exhausted. And his eyes started to droop. Just before sleep took over him he heard a soft voice say,'Don't Worry, Lord. We will take you back.
