Chapter 14

Jason

Jason was dreaming of Piper when someone woke him up. He groggily opened his eyes to see the sea-green eyes of Percy. "What do you want, Percy? I was having a wonderful dream." Jason asked still sleepy. Percy chuckled. "Monster attack. we need everyone." Jason got up and quickly they both left the room. only then did Jason notice that Percy had a long pink line on his right cheek. "hey, Percy what happened to your cheek?" Jason enquired. Percy's shoulders tensed then he gave out a nervous laugh and replied, " Cut myself by mistake in the kitchen." Lies. Jason didn't know why Percy had to lie. He narrowed his eyes at Percy and he said "tell you later." they hurried to the deck and saw full fledged battle raging on. Piper was fighting an empousa. Annabeth was battling a hellhound. Frank, hazel and Leo were trying to take down a gryphon. Jason went to aid Piper while Percy went to aid frank, hazel and Leo because Annabeth was doing good. Either way Jason had a feeling that Percy was not going to help Annabeth. In a few minutes they had destroyed all the monsters. Annabeth went and put an arm around Percy but he shrugged it off. "ok we're having a meeting now. lets go." Jason said and started walking to the meeting room. Percy sat next to frank and hazel while Annabeth sat next to Leo and piper. "Percy! What happened to your cheek?" piper exclaimed. Percy shot an evil glare at Annabeth and replied, "its nothing. I had a small accident because someone decided that I was a traitor!." "What?!" frank exclaimed. "I said som-" "we heard what you said, who called you a traitor, Percy?" Hazel asked quietly. Percy shook his head and kept his eyes trained on the floor. "it was Annabeth, wasn't it?" Jason asked. Percy jerked his head up and looked Jason then at Annabeth, his former anger returning to his eyes. "Percy, I'm sorry. I shou-" Annabeth started. "Save it!" Percy yelled and stormed out of the room. There was an awkward silence for a few minutes. And only Annabeth sobbing was heard. "how many more days do we have more?" Jason asked Leo, finally breaking the silence. "we have more 8 days. So.....I'll be in my engine room now so...yeah bye." Leo said and darted out of the room. Slowly everyone dispersed leaving Jason with his own thoughts. He decided to check on Percy. Ever since Tarturus Jason felt protective of his cousin. He knocked on the door. "Go away, whoever you are. I want to be alone." Percy's muffled was said. "Percy! Hellhounds are attacking! We need help!" Jason fake shouted. Immediately the door flew open and Percy stumbled out, Riptide uncapped. "You said there's an attack. What are you doing here?." Percy asked confusion etched on his face. "I may have lied. I just wanna talk with you." Jason said. "Jason!" Percy yelled/said. They had silent stare test. Percy gave up almost immediately which confused Jason because Percy never backed out so easily. Jason stepped into his room and was immediately hit with the scent of sea like a brick. "So what happened?" Jason asked tapping his foot. "You were there when Annabeth called me, right?" Percy said. "yeah. I was wondering why you didn't come back." Jason said. "well, the reason was that Annabeth dragged me the stables and asked me when I was going to tell her. I asked what but she said I was lying and that Gaea told her that I had joined her army. I denied it. but Annabeth didn't believe me so she whipped out her knife and gave me mark to remember that incident." Percy said breathing heard. "okay okay. why can't you just forgive her?" Jason asked. "I can't just forgive her, man. I would've forgiven Leo or frank or anyone who said that because you guys weren't with me for the last five years. you guys wouldn't know. But came from Annabeth. the person whom I fought alongside in countless battles. the person whom I would give my life for." Percy said speaking in a rush. Jason nodded understandingly. He noticed that Percy was breathing pretty heavily. "hey, man you okay?" Jason asked placing a hand on his shoulder. "I'm fine." Percy said not fine at all. Jason grabbed a water bottle and gave it to him. Percy smiled at him and chugged down the water. It gave some color to his face but suddenly he gasped and his eyes turned darker than there usual color. "Percy, you okay?" Jason asked concerned. Percy didn't say anything for like 5 minutes. then his eyes turned back to there original color, he looked up at Jason. "what? what happened?" Percy asked. "you were like, gone for a few minutes" Jason said, confused. "I was? oh, that yeah I had like a glimpse if my flashback." Percy said like it was nothing. "what?! how? I thought that those things had stopped?" Jason asked. Percy nodded. "yeah. but I think Tyche told you about that?." Percy enquired. "oh. yeah. Right. 'More or less' anyway, how did you know she came?" Jason asked. "she came in my dream. ok, I'm going for a swim. bye." Percy chirped and left the room. Jason looked after him and went to his own room to catch some shut eye.
