The miasma flew at me and curled around my ankles. It pulled me violently towards the pond. I screamed and tried to grab whatever was near me. My hands clawed into the muddy ground.
I screamed for somebody to come to my rescue. I screamed the name did the Holy Knights. "Francis, Claude, Kai help me!"
I felt my legs break through the surface of the water and greet the cold. I knew it was a matter of seconds before my whole body was in the water. I grabbed onto a weak root of a tree and tried to hall onto it.
Both my hands were slippery from the muddy ground and it slid out of my grasp. The miasma tentacles, pulled harder and I was underwater.
I tried to hold the air which I managed to breath in, as I was pulled deeper and deeper below. I was good at holding back my breath for a long time, but I still knew my limits. I had still 25 seconds to go till my lungs would give in.
I stared up at the rippling rays of the sun which managed to break through the water surface. It shined vigorously above me. I wanted more than anything to be up there, breathing air rather than water. I didn't like water. It was a weakness of mine. I hated water since I was little.
"That's not true..." a voice said in the back of my mind. "You always loved the water. Don't you remember us playing together?" I saw a figure swimming towards me in the distance. It didn't look human. As it neared I let out a gasp which let out all the air from my lungs. My lungs started to tighten painfully at the lack of air.
The figure which was a second ago a meter away now was right in front of me. He smiled.
"I'll save you my precious Gem." The man culled my face into his then slid an arm around my shoulders and pulled me away swiftly from my attacked. I felt the miasma let go off my ankles.
My vision started to blur and I started to panic. My heart beat increased. I felt myself slipping away. My eyes started to close.
The last thing I heard was in the ancient tongue, a force field being put up.

I woke up panting,my whole back was drenched in sweat and so was my pillow and bedsheet.
It was dark in my room. The stars and other planets shined through my open door from the terrace. I ran a hand through my long hair and heaved out my exhaustion.
"For God's sake.." I whispered, even though I knew I could have shouted it even, because I am the only person on the form floor I am on. I pulled up my knees to my chest and hugged themselves. It just dawned on me that there was no one I could talk about my feelings. I was fighting against them not to let them come to surface. I missed my mother. I terribly missed her. I missed my cat Moon...
I didn't realize until tears started to swell up in my eyes then after that I started crying. I broke down. It took me a month from preventing myself from crying.
Knock. Knock.
I sniffed and looked towards the door. Someone knocked again. I quickly wiped my eyes and went to open it.
I pulled the door open and found two amber eyes looking back at me.
"Good evening Saphire. I hope I didn't wake you up."
I shook my head. "No. Don't worry."
"What's wrong? You don't look good. Your eyes are red. Have you been...." I tried to cover my eyes with the some hair which fell into my face.
"I'm fine." I faked a smile and stepped back form his outreaching hand to my face. "What brought you here in the middle of the night?"
"I came here to give this to you," he revealed a bunch of flowers from behind his back. My mouth fell open. "A get well gift. I apologize I couldn't save you. I would have, and I would have succeeded unlike my brother."
I silently agreed.
"Thank you for the flowers, Francis." I took the flowers and smelled them. Their sweet aroma filled my nose. I couldn't recognize any of the flowers he got for me. They had strange colors. Blue mixed with purple, red with orange. Pink with white.
"You welcome. Well good night Little Princess. I'll see you tomorrow." Francis bowed, his head lifted up and eyes never leaving mine. He then left down the hall.
I watched his figure disappear down the corridor and down the far stairs. I closed the door and went back to bed.
