Kai POV
He looked from one of his friends to the others. They had to act quickly if they didn't want any casualties. From what Zoe and Tom gathered; they both had the red crescent moon and the ritual 600th moon. That was a definite that they were no longer hunting down just one individual, it was a cult.
"We have an intel that the 600th moon is one day away from now. It will be at a frozen lake somewhere behind those mountains," Alexander pointed behind him, a mile away there were mountains which were oddly not looking like the snow had touched it or even winter itself.
"Thank you, Alexander. Anybody else like to add more information?"
"From what you guys told me, I have a bad feelings that they are controlling the blood flow of the children... The red moon tattoo; could only mean the red for blood and the moon for sacrifice—"
"—which then leads me to the conclusion that the children are the sacrifice, but I just don't know why they need the crescent moon for? Who are they trying to summon? Who can be that powerful and weirdly awesome to call forth?" Tom muttered frustrated his index finger curled around his chin, looking very thoughtful and smart.
"Kai you should already come up with a good plan, you're a bad leader you know." Zoe crossed her arms, letting go of off her horse's rains. Her horse was the calmest of all of them. Caramel was a good horse.
Kai adjusted his glasses, which edges had already formed small frost patterns. "I have you know concluding a plan is very complicated and takes risks. If you really think I'm such a bad leader; why don't you become one yourself." The Knight raises an eyebrow at his friend challengingly.
To his surprise Zoe just shrugged a smirk on her lips. "Nah. Too complicated for my brain. And I don't like the responsibility to look after others."
"In other words you don't have the brain capacity to become leader. I see."
"What was that ? I have you know I have a good brain! I use my brain not only for strategies unlike someone, I use it to also help others in their love life ! Of course you don't know anything in that field because you don't care anything like that. You only care about being leader, bossing everybody around who is a rank under you. And I bet you can't wait for the King to choose you to be his successor." Zoe looked away from him, turned her horse around and waited for Saphire to catch up to them from falling behind. The girl had a quizzing look on her face, probably wondering just what the hell happened between himself and Zoe.
Such bickering arguments are always so useless and time consuming.
"Guys, be quite we are nearly there!" Beatrix tightened her hands on the rains of her horse. They were indeed very near. They could see a spiral path circling up the side of the mountain and disappearing on the other side.
"Bett's right." Alexander suddenly stopped his horse. "Plan?"
Kai glances between his group, his minding racing coming up with all sort of plans. None of them seemed to be good enough. If they split up and made a star shaped circle aroma the whole lake and launched an attacking towards their enemy? But that would be too rash. What if there were more positioned on the perimeters of the lake? No that's not good either.
Abruptly there was a loud clash of wind behind them, some of the horses rose on their hind legs getting scared and neighing. Kai managed to stay on his horse, unlike Tom, who fell on his butt in the snow.
Kai jumped off and drew is sword. Everyone followed suit after him, getting theirs. Beatrix got her whip, Tom and Saphire their swords, Alexander his bow and arrows. The leader narrowed his eyes at the snow smoke to subside. There were two figures standing side by side.
