"Isn't this exciting!?" One of the girls from my class squealed jumping up and down. We were going on a trip to visit a small island which held something very important to the world of Azia.

I caught up finally after a months with the others. And from the history books the Demon King had something to do with that island. The teachers were refusing to tell us what that exactly was, because they wanted it to be a surprise for us. The Demon King held grudge and bad blood towards the elves and their King. One party broke some agreement and so he turned on them. The elves protested there was no agreement whatsoever broken; the truth was that the Demon King wanted to take the throne himself and get hold of the Pendant of Souls for himself. He was luckily stopped by the Sixth King, the current King's father. The Pendant of Souls, I was still not quite sure what it represented....

The teachers registered everyone. Only the students who were doing great academically and were sensible were allowed to go on the trip, which were 10 students from the 20.

I walked up on the stairs leading up to the deck and when I stepped foot on the ship I was shocked to see a familiar face.

"Hello there Little Princess, we meet again."

"My Lord!" I bowed to Francis.

"Oh stop that courtesy thing." He smiled at patted my shoulder. "How are you doing?"

"I am doing great. May I ask what you are doing here?"

He looked around the deck to see the men getting ready the ship to set sail. "I was ordered by my cousin to look after a small group of students from the school, and..." he fished something out from his inner pocket of his dark red coat and handed it to me. It was a scroll tied with a golden ribbon and sealed with the emblem of Monarch. "... give you this. It's from him."

I opened the scroll and read.

Dear Saphire Hawkings,

I am writing to you with the intention of making sure you are doing well in the Institute. I hope my people are treating you very kindly and there aren't any complications. I am truly sorry that I could not come by and see you in person. As a King, there is a lot of work and duty to be done, and it has all piled up on my desk, as I write this you can imagine, a pile of books, scrolls and other things towering up on my desk, and you can't even see me behind them. With that being said, the place is very dangerous where you are all heading and I assigned my best man to look after you and everyone else.
I wrote to your mother not to worry about you that you are safe in my hands and as her former student I will not allow anything happen to you.

I must end this letter short. Have a great time on Pingiôn Island.

Sincerely

The King

I rolled back the scroll and looked at Francis, who was observing the clouds above. "Thank you Sir Brauwn."

"You very welcome."

"Who else is on the ship?"

"Myself and Kai." Claude walked up behind Francis and put an arm around his shoulders, grinning at him with his white teeth.

I bowed quickly to Claude. "Your Highness."

Claude raised my chin, with his index finger. "Please, rise."

I did. I looked around, the others have disappeared into the cabins below, so it was only us three on deck apart from the few crew members. "It's nice to see you again Sir Claude. And I'm sorry about our first meeting."
