When I awoke it felt like I had been underwater, my head was throbbing from dizziness — it was a weird feeling. I looked around my surroundings. The walls were made up rough, pale grey stones with a cupola glass ceiling and candles were served as wall lighting.
Before I could even finish assessing then rest of my new home which was quite obvious to me then, the wooden door of my cell opened. A man in his mid 40s stepped through the door, he had gold armor on, which quite frankly I recognized.
I gave him my coldest glare.
He didn't event flinch at me as soon as his eyes settled on me, what a waste of energy! I was disappointed. I guess here people were used to receiving cold glares.... "I came to get you and take you to his Majesty."
I stood and walked over to him while I said, "No way in hell I will meet that son of a—ahhhh!!!" I intended to punch him but my hands were bind behind my back and I fell forward. I managed to avoid my head meeting the ground by putting out my knees first and then twist my upper body sideways so I landed on my right shoulder.
The soldier grabbed me by my elbow and pulled me up. He had a tight grip on both of my shoulders. Having been an only child for my entire life, my mum signed me up for versions self defense classes over the years in order to protect my self. One thing I learnt was to step hard on the guard's foot with my heel.
I did just that.
The guard gave out a groan from the back of his throat and his brown eyes burnt with angry fire. "Why you—" he swore and I took that chance to thrust my right knee into his stomach. He fell forward groaning and coughing, while I stepped aside and ran out of the cell's door.
My heart jumped to my throat as I knew what will happen next. I turned on my heels, once I saw the guard getting up, and bolted into a sprint. All I could do while running was pray that I took the right turns to some exit, because there must be an exit! There had to be.
I heard down the corridor behind me as soon as my feet touched the outside of the dudgeon, shouts to other guards to stop me. But of course no one will ever stop me!
I urged my legs to move faster. I found a staircase leading somewhere up. I decided to take my chance and run up.
"Stop her right now!"
"Stop!"
I heard voices coming nearer nearer, I took three stairs steps up. The staircase curled right up and when I reached the top, I saw I arrived at the ground floor. There were students sitting on the grass with books in their hands and something floating around them. If I weren't escaping from the guards I would have stared more and would have tried to figure out just what the hell was flying around them, but I had no time for that. I ran across under the open pillar hall which looked over to the garden framing it into a square shape.
I ran and reached a flight of stairs which this time were heading down to some kind of gold landing, which reminded me of a landing used by planes. I decided to go that way. When I arrived on the landing, it was polished gold, and I could see my own reflection when I looked down. Decorated twirls and other shapes were decorating the sides of it.
"Stop right there!"
I looked behind me and the soldiers where piling up from behind a huge green door, they all had their shield in one hand and sword in the other. My heart started its racing again. The one before them, who was the same guard who was guarding me in the cells, spread his arms wide on either side of him.
"You reached a dead end half breed." I bit back an insult and decided to wait what else he wanted to say.
"Oh yeah?!"
