I felt something cold on my back, as it moved down my shoulders and to my sides.  “James, you forgot to turn on the heat last night.”

I groaned.  “I went to bed before you did, I forgot to do nothing.”

“James,” I now identified Vin as the one speaking to me, “I don’t know where the thermostat is, can you please help me?”

I rolled over and got out of bed.  “Fine, just let me get dressed.”  I felt around the floor for my clothes.  “Where the hell?”

“You are dressed,” she said, “That’s why I’m cold and you’re not, I took the time to change last night before I went to bed.”

“Alright, alright,” I got up and went into the kitchen “Did you leave the lights on?” I asked as I opened the kitchen door.

“No silly, the lights are off.”

“No they’re not, I can tell.”  I looked up and didn’t see light coming from the light bulb.  I looked to the left and saw that the light switch was also turned off.  “Never mind, they’re off apparently.”

“I told you.” she said.  “Why did you think they were on?”

“Well, usually I can’t see in the dark, but since talking to you and mom last night, apparently I can.”

“Oh, I see, White didn’t tell you?”

“Tell me what?” I asked as I turned the heat up.

“You went into Higher Realm.” she said.

“Is that supposed to be an explanation, cuz I still don’t understand.”

She sighed.  “Since you could go there, that means that you’re really, really strong, and by going there, you became much more capable of using that strength.”

    “So, I’m what, supercharged?”

She laughed and hugged me.  “I wouldn’t say that exactly, but you’re definitely warm.”

“Thanks, that makes me feel better.” I said, dripping  with sarcasm.

“I’m sorry, I don’t really know how to explain it.  All I can tell you, is that now, you’ll be able to do and feel a lot of things that you couldn’t before.”

    “Well, that’s cool I guess.”

“Yeah, now let’s go back to bed, I’m tired still.”

“Alright, but I need you to let go of me to do that.”

“Fine,” she said as she let go, “I’m warmer now anyway.  Thanks James.”

    “No problem, goodnight.”

    “Good morning.”

A couple hours later, the sun came out, and I ignored it completely.  When I did finally get out of bed,  It was almost night time again.  “Oh, look at that, he’s alive.”

“Whatever Divinity, I don’t get much sleep.”

“That’s not true,” Ven said, “He just doesn’t feel rested when he sleeps.  He gets a lot of sleep usually.”

“I don’t know about that,” Vin said quietly, “I don’t get much sleep, and we’re pretty alike.”

    “Oh?” Ven said.

“Yeah, I technically don’t need to sleep, I just get tired of being awake all the time.  I really only sleep when I over exert myself, which isn’t very often.”
