" Ungrateful "
"Daddy, I'm sorry. I really am, but I can't just drop one of my best friends because of her decisions!" I tell my dad. His fist and teeth were clenched tightly together and yelling at him like this is definitely walking on thin ice. Yes, I disobeyed him but any punishment is worth my friend. So his yelling, screaming, cursing, I'll take it.
"You disobeyed me! You did the exact opposite of what I told you to do! The exact opposite!" He grabs my arm and pulls me to his side. "If you think you're getting away without a scratch, you're thinking wrong." He then drags me to the front door and pushes me out with his huge hands.
I gasp as I hit the cement, my knees skid across the rough stone and I catch my self from falling on my stomach with my hands. Unfortunately, it hardly helps. My chest and stomach don't hit the ground but my chin hits the ground full force, giving me a huge headache already. I hiss and push myself off the ground and stand up. Don't show him that he's hurting you.
He stood on the lower step with a scowl on his face, "I hate you. I hate everything about you, everything you are, everything you stand for." Ouch... He took a step forward making me look up a little more to keep my eyes on his.
"I have told you countless of times to get rid. Of. Her. And what do you do? You continue to be friends with her, you continue to talk to her, laugh with her. Well I'm sick of you!" He brings his hand up and before I can react the back of his hand meet with my left cheek. "You. Ungrateful. Brat." He spits, each word with more venom than the last.
I bend over slightly and hold onto my stinging cheek. I sniffle a little to suck the tears back in and they obey my wishes to stay in only a little longer. Of course it was the first time he ever hit me. He was always a nice man, but the toll of losing mom has been a little hard in him, and I don't blame him.
I look up only when I hear the door of a car slam closed. I turn around to see a man with a long face and a scruffy beard. A hat covered his head but not his eyes. Which allowed me to see the furry in the glare he was sending my dad.
"What did you say to her? What did you say to your child, your little girl? Did you call her ungrateful? Ungrateful!" I didn't know the man but my dad seemed to. His eyes widened in surprise and he moved back just a little.
"Bobby! What are you doing here?"
"I came to see Y/N. Last time I seen her she was three, and I didn't come to see you hit her, or for her to be all bloody! That isn't how a beautiful girl like her should live!"
"You don't understand-"
"Nothing. Nothing! Ever! Should make you want to hit your own child! Kids ain't supposed to be grateful! They're supposed to eat your food, break your heart."
He turned to me and his cold glare softened at the slightest. He bent down to reach my height and I took a step back. He smiled sadly and pointed behind me. Which made me look over my shoulder to see an old black car. I'm not a cars person so I couldn't tell you what it was, but inside of it were two men glaring at my dad behind me.
"Those are my boys, Sam and Dean, and that's their car. You're old enough to decide by yourself what you want to do." I looked back at him and he still had the same soft gaze. "You don't know me well Y/N but me and your mom, we were like family. You could come with me, if you wanted to."
"Y/N-"
"This isn't your decision." Bobby glared over his shoulder before looking back at me and holding out his hand. "Y/N?"
I looked back at my father who was glaring daggers into Bobby's back. He didn't look at me straight on, but I saw him look at me out of the corner of his eyes. Finally he turned to me with that same glare and spit the words I never thought he'd say.
"Get outta here. Now." Frightened I grabbed Bobby's hand who lead me to the car. The man in the passenger side got out and opened the door for me.
"You okay?" I gave a nod, "Okay. We're gonna go back to Bobby's place and there I'll fix up your injuries." I nodded again and got into the back, and Bobby followed. The man got back in the passenger side and the car started up. As we drove off I looked back to where my dad was standing last but the he wasn't there, and the front door was closed.
I looked down at my hands but still refused to cry. If he didn't love me. Fine. I'll find a new family-
"Hey kiddo." The man driving said making me look up. "I'm Dean." He said never once taking his eyes off the road, "The big scary giant in the front passenger seat is Sam." Sam gave a scoff and in the mirror I saw him roll his eyes. A small smile slowly made its way onto my lips.
"And I'm Bobby." I tuned to look at the man that sat beside me and my smile got bigger.
"Y/N."
Maybe I've already found my new family.
