' Nothing to say ' | Modern time AU

"Oh, George, you shouldn't have." I giggled as I took the red, glittery, box. He smiled and ushered me on to open it. Today was mine and Georges' anniversary, 6 years anniversary to be exact. It may be a little strange, six years and not married. It hardly bothered me, if I'm honest, George was a shy man, I'm surprised he even tells anyone we're dating.

"Open it, love." He whispered sweetly. I do as he request and gasp at the beautiful necklace that hung in the box.

"Oh my.." I whispered and gently tugged the beautiful pink diamond necklace out if the box. I gingerly turned the necklace over in my hand, a big smile etched to my face. Then I froze.

'To my dearest, Martha' was written on the back of the necklace. My smile faded and I glanced at George, he still had a small smile.

"Help me put it on..?" I whisper and stand up. He nods and follows my movement. As he get behind me, I pick up my glass of wine and turn around to pour it on him.

"(Y/N)!" He yells. I turn the necklace around to show him the name. Red wine dripped down his forehead down onto his perfect white suit, dying it red, and I loved it. As he read the name, his angry eyes turned to one of worry. He said nothing.

"Oh?" I laughed wickedly and threw the necklace to the ground, "Nothing to say?" Still nothing. I shook my head. "Well, I have something to say. Who the hell is Martha?" I yelled.

By now, the whole restaurant eyes were on us. It was great. Publicly humiliating a cheater, a liar. Mumbles spread across the room as George spoke up.

"(Y/N), Please, darling-" I cut him off.

"Don't call me that-" He spoke over me.

"This isn't what it looks like-"

"Oh, really?"

"She's just a friend and-" I sharply cut him off by slapping him. The loud sound erupted through the restaurant. Neither of us spoke. I took in a shake breath, the weight of the situation catching up to me, the tears threatening to spill.

"Get out." I mumbled, "Maybe your friend can comfort you." He stares at me a few moments before walking away.

He walked away.

He walked away.

He walked away.

No.

Nonono.

People rushed to my side, somewhere during those few minutes of George walking away, I had fallen to the floor. I saw people trying to talk, trying to comfort me, but I could only hear my sobs.

The world seemed to blur together.

Everything spun.

Everyone mixed together.

And out the corner of my eye, hiding under someones foot, the word 'Martha' poked out

Okay, so let me apologize for not updating, I had this amazing angst idea for George Washington and then I lost it and this was the substitute for it.

I've been busy but I will be updating real soon after this.

Also, I'm sorry this was so short, next chapter will be longer!
