Chapter 28: Silhouette

I hear giggling and feel tickling on my face like feathers. I open my eyes and I see Zaphrina hovering over me shaking her black hair. I smile as she shakes it again. "Wake up sleepy head." She says and I finally see Mia as she pulls her back and hold her in her arms.

"Hi." Mia says and her voice is soft and beautiful.

"Hi." I look down at my arms and the IV's are gone and I don't feel sore anymore.

"Everyone's waiting for us at my parent's house." Mia says as she puts Zaphrina down and she runs to the window. She helps me sit up and hands me a bag. "I brought some clothes and some shower stuff."

"Mommy can we go to the park tomorrow." I look out the window and noticed it stopped raining, when?

"It stopped this morning when I woke up happy." Mia answers my own question.

After the shower and signing the discharge papers Mia, with Zaphrina in my arms ride the elevator down to the lobby. We get to the end of the parking lot and it's empty.

"Where's your car?" I look around and Zaphrina giggles.

"Lesson one, teleport." I feel my nerves in my throat and my heart race. "Hold her tight and close your eyes." I do as she says and fell her grasp my hand. "put the image of the house in front of you, like you're going to walk up to the door, then push off your heels like you're going to tip toe then open your eyes." I nod and Zaphrina wraps her arms around my neck and covers her face.

I count down from three and take a deep breath and follow the instructions. I feel my legs tingle and like I'm driving through a dip in the road. Once the feeling goes away I open my eyes and we are in front of the door. I turn and see Mia smiling at me. "Fun huh." She says and knocks on the door.

"I thought we were going to end up in the middle of the ocean." Zaphrina laughs and the door swings open.

"Finally, we were waiting for you to get here so we can eat." Lydia says before a hello. I let Zaphrina down and she lets herself right in. As we walk in I can smell meat and so many mouth watering scents.

"Nice to see you too." I say as she hugs me. She looks at Mia and smiles but walks away. "What was that all about?" I whisper to Mia.

"She was a little more freaked out by my example than the others when I told them I had powers. She just needs time." I nod and we enter the kitchen and I see mum sat at the kitchen island talking to Kristin.

She stands when she sees me and hugs me tight, "Come since the rain has stopped we're eating on the back patio." Kristin says as she takes two bowls with her.

"Glad to have you home son." I smile and walk outside and see Zaphrina running in the spacious grass covered yard.

"Zaphrina be careful." Mia yells to her as she runs around on the wet grass. I see her foot slip and I jump when I hear her scream.

"No!" I hold out my hand and she freezes just before her body falls into the mud. I stand her up from where I am and she slowly walks to the concrete part. I look down at my hands and Mia squeezes my arm.

"Thank you." She walks towards Zaphrina and sits her on the tall chairs around the square patio table.

I look at everyone and they look like they can't believe I just did that, yeah well same. They look away and turn to whatever they were doing except Lydia. She closes her eyes and it takes her a minute to recover. I don't even notice Mia in front of me till she waves her hand in my face.

"Hey try not to use them too much, too much and it makes you weak and tired." I nod and join everyone at the table.

"So Mia tells m-." Mia clears her throat and George stops. She shakes her head and he nods. "Uh Mia tells me uh,"
